Thank you & More about me...

Thank you so much to all of you who responded to my initial post a couple of weeks ago. I'm sorry I have not been able to get back on for a while, things are just crazy around my way. I have been anxious daily since posting, but hearing that you have all been there and experienced the same things has helped me SOOO much. My anxiety has not turned into full-blown panic since I checked in here. I think I am finally able to get it through my head that it is just panic and not immanent death. Atleast I am getting there. Again, thank you.

some of you asked if I was unusually stressed lately. I live a life that is unusually stressed. I am a military wife. My DH has been to Iraq twice and is getting ready to go back. He is now suffering from PTSD. I have three small kids: 9, 3, and almost 1. My eldest is ADHD and also showing signs of being anxious. I am a stay at home mom but working on my Master's degree, so that also keeps me very busy. And then there is just the normal everyday stress of money, holidays, household, etc. I guess I am just so used to it that I don't realize how much I am always dealing with. I know logically that I have good reason to be stressed and anxious, but because this is every day life for me, I am still surprised when I am pushed over the edge into full panic.

I cannot take Xanax or anything like that because I am a nursing mother. I went from being pregnant and not able to take it to nursing for two years, then pregnant again and nursing again, so I haven't been able to take it since '02. I usually just threw it up anyway. I would get myself so worked up I would get sick.

Anyway, I am a work in progress. I just really appreciate that I found this board. I will check in more regularly and hope to join in chat now that I have winter break from classes.

Once again I'd like to welcome you to the board, Nicole. It's good that you found us. The camaraderie of having others around that know exactly what anxiety is like, has been very helpful to me & others.
