Awwwwwwwwww.. I can't tell you how special I feel - a thread just for little oh me.. ok so I'm not so little - but still for me. :)

The procedure went as planned.. The nurses and hospital staff were great and I finally found out why they put me completely to sleep for the procedure when it doesn't usually require it. Since I take Effexor ans xanax they said that the normal drugs they use don't always work well and allow the patient to be comfortable enough for the test. Naturally I was all about being comfortable for the test... :)

I had a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy for those of you that weren't involved in the chat session last week. The doctor came in and said that initially everything looks pretty good and there are no signs of Chrohn's disease. YAY!!! They did a biopsy of my colon and esophagus as well as removed some polyps. I have to wait about 2 weeks for the results. One thing that they found odd was that there was alot of water in my stomach even after having nothing to drink for more than 12 hours. I am still waiting to hear what to deal was with that, but several of the nurses commented on it and naturally I was still a little woozy when the Dr. came in to talk to me about the test. So I'll have to wait til I talk to them again to ask about that.

Naturally after it was all said and done I finally got to eat about 3 days of nothing but liquid.. and now several days later it's like my stomach is still trying to adjust which has been quite unpleasant! The test only left minor soreness.. but luckily it was only my throat and not the other end.. :)

I'll update as soon as I get the test results which hopefully don't show anything abnormal.

Lots of love..

Valerie

I am wondering the same thing regarding regular exams to look for the polyp. Since my grandfather had colon cancer at a fairly young age a nd they are already finding polyps in me, I'd imagine that they will. But I guess I'll ask them that when they call with the test results.

Thanks for checking on me.
