I must be very very anxious the last three out of five nights I've suffered what I refer to as disturbing dreams. Yes Nightmares. The one I had last night was the exact same as the one I had the night before. Now isn't that weird. Bad thing is I finally wake myself and then I have to wake Mel up cause I'm afraid to go back to sleep. Terrified of reentering the same dream. Do others have problems with reoccuring dreams or reentering dreams.

Hi Keitha,

Especially when I'm not sleeping well anyway, I tend to have disturbing dreams. Mine aren't the terrifying sort, but more the ultimate humiliation, creepy crawly or toxic family type. I wake up sad & anxious...and even more irritated because I lost needed sleep!

Sometimes exercising or getting outdoors for a little while during the day helps me have better nights.

Hugs & hope this pattern breaks up soon,
Dee

WOW! This must be scary, Keitha. When I was much younger & in alot of distress, I had a recurring dream that was unpleasant. I knew I would have it as soon as I closed my eyes & was very fearful of nodding off. I don't remember doing anything different @ the time, but it did eventually pass. I can recall that dream like it was yesterday. I now know what it means. Maybe that's why I never had it again. I came to terms with an issue that I simply didn't want to confront. KWIM? Hope you can relax & get a few winks in soon. GL&GBU! (((hugs))) jan

Ladies I know we've all discussed the dream thing before and I appreciate the replys. I did finally last night have a dream free sleep and was able to get some much needed sleep. It's like I've been sabataging my own sleep because as you said Jan I'm now terrified to even atempt it. And I think you may be right I have some issues I need to work on but have been putting unpleasant issues on the back burner, after all this is the holiday season (which may also be a contributing factor). I'ld save it for my therapist but we all know she's no real help so it's something I need to face on my own and that's not always an easy thing to do. Sheriann I'm so sorry this is happening to you, nothing is as disturbing as falling right back into the same dream you have woke yourself up from. It does help knowing that you're not the only one that has this sleep "problem"
