Feeling a bit down today

The last few weeks of the semester, I was so looking forward to break and being able to relax, unwind etc. Generally things are going well, not too exciting...but I'm blue, I'm sort of frustrated and not knowing why.

It's been so cold, dull and gray the last few days too. Maybe the short days are getting to me. Sorry if I'm whining...I wish I felt better now, 'cause I'm already starting to worry about the extra class next semester and anticipating how insanely busy it will be.

Oh pooh.

Hope you are having a goodnight all.

Smiles,
Dee

It's understandable to have some post-holiday let down. Plus if you're not used to being around the house that much you may feel at a loss of what to do.

Why not plan an outing for your family? You know one thing I love to do with kids and dh that is fun and cheap is a trip to the library. I always feel better after going to the library.

Just remembered that you are in school - so maybe a library is the last place you want to be! LOL Museums, botanic gardens, park districts are good too...

(((Dee))) Is it possible you are experiencing some of that post-holiday letdown? I know it's happening @ our house. We were sort of running on that *high* & feeling of joy that Christmas brings, but I noticed everyone is getting a bit snappy.

What do you really enjoy doing? Whatever it is, make some time to do it. I am enjoying my seed catalogs that have been arriving by mail each day. I am drawing up plans for my garden even though we haven't had *real* winter yet:) It's very relaxing for me to dream.

I hope you'll find a way to chase those blues away. Sending PT's your way. jan

Sounds like post-holiday letdown. Don't get overwhelmed by all you need to do, and just take baby steps.

Also, if your high expectations for the holidays didn't come true, that can also cause the blues.

It is hard, but I've learned now to expect too much this time of year.

Thanks,

Actually I love reading! :) I have a ton of books around the house that I want to get around to reading, but sometimes it's hard to settle in with one since our place is so small...but DH and DD did turn the tv down and try to give me a little space yesterday which was really nice. I read 1/2 of Jonathan Kellerman's "The Murder Book".

Then we had a nice evening too. So I'm feeling a bit better today. It is also nice & sunny! Yay! I think we will go out and get some fresh air, that always helps.

I appreciate the support! Good ideas :)

Thanks Jan,

I'm feeling better this morning...it helps that it's bright and sunny out today. I'm going to run a few errands, just to get out for awhile.

I have a bunch of college apps and some papers that I need to write, but it's hard to get focused right now. Most of it is not due for a few weeks, but I need to get started. ;)

You are probably correct about the post holiday feelings too.

Dear Emily,

Thank's for the support :) I'm feeling a bit better today. I'll probably get out of the house, just for some fresh air and to cheer myself up.

We are also trying to get a lot of clean-up and rearranging done to maximize our space. I feel a bit overwhelmed with that sometimes, but we are making progress. LOL

Have a great day.

Dee

Hi Dee, my thoughts are this ... when I am in school, my mind is busy, I have something to look forward to, something to succeed at, I feel fulfilled.
