Lexapro and feeling "blah"

I'm wondering if any of you Lexapro users can shed some light on this. I started Lexapro on Nov. 1st so it has been 8 weeks. I still have this "blah" feeling all day long. I used to be very energetic but the down side to that was not being able to sleep. I now sleep great but I really do not like this sensation. It's not really fatigue. It's more a sense of not wanting to do anything. Hard to get motivated. I am wondering if this too will subside with time. I started off at 10 mg. and about 2 weeks ago I cut back to 5 mg. which I take around 8-9 PM. I had thought reducing the dosage would help but so far, no. I originally was taking the Lex. in the morning but that was horrible. I felt like a zombie all day. Thanks for any info you might have.

I am sorry to hear this. Sometimes the *blahs* are not directly attributable to the meds or even our anxiety. It might be added stressors or changes in our circumstances that place us @ risk of being tired & washed out. Lots of time this has happened to me & I wasn't able to

Hi,

I don't know much about meds, but wanted to say welcome! This is really friendly group, so I hope you feel free to come back and post.

I have generalized anxiety disorder and am in talk therapy, married with a 3 yr old DD and a nontraditional college student.

Smiles,
Dee

I think the Lexapro is working, just maybe working TOO much. It definitely has a sedating effect on me but it never seems to wear off allowing me to have energy. I guess that is the trade off. Maybe I should try taking it a little earlier. I was hoping someone with longer experience on Lexapro could shed some light but then again, not everyone has the same side effects. Not sure I want to give up on Lexapro just yet.
