I've been feeling great lately, and wondering how long I should take Zoloft (25mgs). I wonder if I would plummet back into the state of anxiety I had been living in, or if I would be fine. Any thoughts?

Hi,

I don't know a lot about meds, but I've heard people talking about cutting dosage and weaning off antidepressants. That way if your anxiety starts to come back, you can just edge up the dosage again. Don't try it without consulting your doc first thoough. ;)

Glad you are feeling better. :)

Smiles,
Dee

Hi! Nice to see you again:) This is a question to put to your dr. and/or therapist. There are some people who stay on the antidepressants for long term. Others, just until they get a handle on the anxiety & have learned enough coping skills to go it on their own.

I think *you* will know if & when it's time to discontinue the zoloft. Make sure you stop for the right reasons. I admit that I have a fear of meds & @ times have considered myself *weak* because I had to depend on them. I quit waaaay too soon. My mind has changed over the years. I accept that I have a chemical imbalance & there will be times meds will be necessary to make me well again. GL& GBU! Don't be a stranger. Let us know what you decide. (((hugs))) jan
