Welcome to the iLose It for Good Community Challenge®. This is your year to make Madonna look flabby and sculpt a rock-solid physique. During the next six weeks you'll join thousands of participants who want to burn fat and achieve a hot Hollywood body.

What's it all about?
There's something about the New Year that makes us size up our bodies and wise up to better health. We vow to drop 10 pounds, wake up dormant muscles and fall in love with our figure. Sadly, many of us break those resolutions as quickly as we make them.





It's tough to swap out bad habits for healthier ones, but that doesn't mean you'll never achieve the body of your dreams.


That's where the iLose It for Good Community Challenge® comes in, teaching you how to reach your goals and maintain lifelong success.


We'll show you how to beat mindless eating, spice up your workouts and love the inner and outer you. You'll form a new relationship with your body that will last long after the challenge ends.


What to expect
Each weekday during the challenge, you'll get a daily assignment to help you connect with your body and bring you closer to what you imagine your life should be. Along the way, we'll push, cheer and guide you toward achieving a hotter, healthier body, and help you find the inspiration and motivation you need to succeed.


You'll also gain access to an incredible weight loss tool, complete with a daily exercise tracker and customizable meal plan developed by doctors, nutritionists and top fitness professionals.


Some of the topics we'll cover include beating workout boredom; good-for-you ingredient swaps; simple tricks to supersize your self-esteem; the best time of day to get moving; and the best ways to get back on track after a binge.


Where to get help
Remember, this is a Community Challenge, so you don't have to go it alone! Here are some simple ways for you to get the most out of your community:

  • Talk to your coaches, by posting your questions, frustrations or success stories on the message board, where they will be checking in regularly.
  • While you're there, you can join your fellow challengers in the conversations that are happening every day, and make use of our knowledgeable iLose It for Good message board community leader, who's on hand to oversee your needs.
  • Send your health questions to NBC's Chief Medical Editor Dr. Nancy Snyderman at editors@mail.ivillage.com. She'll be answering your emails daily on her video blog.
  • Keep your perspective and sense of humor in check with queen of self-esteem Jessica Weiner, who writes about the struggles of living large in her blog, The Weighting Game.
  • Stay motivated by following the travails of eight iVillage women from around the country as they blog about the ups and downs of the challenge, and their scales, on Reality Bites.
  • And finally, get a friend to join the challenge with you to keep you motivated -- and honest. Be sure to share your plans with your family members. Let them know that you've embarked on a six-week challenge to lose weight, and ask them to support your needs.
