exercise CAUSES me anxiety

hi everyone,
saw the post on exercise, yah or nay.. and I have to say that when I do aerobic exercise or strenuous weights I begin to feel anxious and panicky (when doing cardio it's usually at the end of my session, usually when COOLING down because I'm slowing down and it becomes WAY EASIER to feel your fast heartbeat and breathing).
What I think? well.. it doesn't always happen, just sometimes (well, maybe 1/2). I think it's because the same feeling of panic and anxiety (that manifest for me as an awareness of my fast heartrate and breathing) occur during aerobic activity (obviously). But anyhow, my reasonable and logical mind doesn't always work when I'm anxious so sometimes I skip out of it for anticipatory anxiety reasons. Any suggestions?

This has been reported by others. @ times, I have had trouble with intense aerobics & felt that the increased heart rate (that I was very much aware of) contributed to near panic. Things got even worse if my breathing got too rapid. I felt breathless & with my asthma, things got hairy): I
I have the same problem. Although, mine stems from my fear that I'm going to have a heart attack. I'm always concerned about my heart health, for reasons I won't get into now, but it's the same feeling. The pounding heart thing is not good for me.
So, now I do like Jan, and do mostly low impact exercise. Walking or swimming seem to be the best for me. I find it to be just as effective, although I do have to walk longer to get the health benefits, that's okay with me. lol
I have found, though, that I can do things like dancing or fun dance aerobics classes, with relative ease, as far as the anxiety goes. As long as I'm having fun and it's a social setting, I tend not to get the anxiety when my heart beat increases.
I agree with Jess.
