Hi everybody!

Just wanted to write everyone about how I'm doing. Well, I just began the 2nd semester prior to hopefully entering the 2nd Degree Nursing Program. After making that "A" in Pathophysiology last semester, I feel better about my future. Now, I'm taking Pharmacology and a History course. Hoping either one will let me earn a good enough grade to enter the school.

I talked with some girls from the 2nd degree program who just happened to be my age (34-35), one has a 4/6 y.o. married; the other was married w/no kids, and of course they were telling me the usual schpeel..how it takes up all your time, and how they're having to study 3-4 hours a day except for weekends (give a little more hours or so here and there). After that discussion, I kind of wondered if I should enter the program, but since then, I resolved that hey, I'm this far already..why turn back now?

A few times I have felt kind of overwhelmed just thinking about the program, and what happened in the past interfering with my career, but my dh gave me this quotes book for XMAS, and my favorite one of them all is this one by Lucille Ball: "One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn't pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself." This quote, and keeping busy with my dd and studies really has helped.

Funny, that anxious feeling hasn't really come back yet, but then, I haven't worked since Feb 05. Well, real work anyway. Right now, I teach one student in piano, but that's all I have time for. Will it appear again? I wonder, because my FP asked me if my GAD has appeared, and it hasn't. I think someone here said not too long ago, that it appears only in certain situations? Oh well..just keep busy and do those breathing exercises!

Oh, my 7 mo old dd is doing great! Happy Camper! All smiles. Got her first tooth last Monday..she's the cutest thing! Likes to shove toys over to the floor! So cute!

Anyway, hope everyone has a great week!

Talk to you soon! Sorry I couldn't talk sooner! Been really busy!

Nice to see you, Yaddiya! What a great update:) I am so happy to hear about the baby.

Don't get discouraged about school & the work involved. Anything worth having is bound to test our limits. The very fact that those two women are *toughing it out* is an indication that it is DOABLE. That means for you, too!

Wishing you continued success & lots of anxiety-free days. GL! (((hugs))) jan

"Anything worth having is bound to test our limits."

I like what you just said concerning the above quote. I think a light bulb just went off in my head. You're right! I think I'm starting to realize gradually that our limits will always be tested especially as we grow older. I think that's ultimately the *only* way we can ever grow, and become stronger.

Thanks again! <<<>>>>

Heather,
Thanks for the well wishes! Congratulations on the new baby! I can't believe he was born on 12/18! That actually is my birthday! Imagine that!

Did everything go without a hitch with your little one! Let me know if you can. Thanks again!
