Hello everyone,

Hope all is well. So I went to my Dr. appointment on Monday. I have been taking 20 mg of prozac daily for about a month. We decided to up my dosage to 40 mg. of prozac daily so I began doing that Monday after my appointment. Well before the appointment I felt like I was doing better and making some progress, but the past three days (after I had upped my dosage) I have been an anxious wreck. All of my irrational thoughts and fears have returned. All the "what ifs" and the "this is going to happen" and the "what if that happens again". It is aweful because I felt like I was doing so well. Is it normal for this to happen when you have a change of dosage? Is my body just adjusting? I hope so because it feels like i'm taking a step backwards instead of forwards and I'm really scared.

Hugs to you all. You are all wondeful people!

I think myabe this is a reaction to increasing the dose???
JAN will know for sure----- try to hang on and if after a
few more days you are still more anxious call the doc!!
Also remember our minds play tricks on us--- I felt better and I
increased the meds maybe that is bad for me maybe it will make me worse
then it becomes a self fulling prophecy!! KWIM??? GOD BLESS YOU! Judy

I'm going to try my darndest to come to chat soon. I still have yet to make it to a chat and I would really love to, but I have one small problem. The only time I have access to the internet is when i'm at work 8:30-5 :( But i'm working on it because I would love to be online at night time. I'm sure that's when the majority of everyone is on and I would love to chat.

(((Jules))) I have read where an increase in meds(SSRI's) will cause an increase in anxiety for some folks. Each of us are affected differently. Some of our members have reported this side effect as well. The good news is that it generally passes in a few days. If it's unliveable, Jules, then call your doctor. I have found that *toughing it out* is best for me. But... that might not be best for you. You & your dr. know what is best! GL! jan

Anytime you change your dose, your body has to adjust to it.
