Kickin' the habit - .. the zoloft habit

I determined that I no longer require treatment with antidepressants. So I started weaning myself off of the Zoloft, which I was only taking 25 mg to begin with. I cut my dose in half again. The first day I was alright, second I felt terrible. Nausea, diarrhea, yuckers. Then I felt great! A bit moody, but it's also that time of the month. (Bad timing.) Last night I didn't take a pill at all. I feel fine today although I was stuck with the diarrhea again in the morning. But my mood is ok, my head doesn't hurt, all seems to be well. Just wanted to announce that. The only other thing I've noticed is that in the morning when I drink my coffee, I get really jittery and nervous. I think I'll have to drink half-caff again...

The main reason I'm kickin' the habit now is:

1) Want to get off of it before my body gets too addicted.
2) Personally I'd rather swap it for some birth control (I can't afford both pills, and a baby would produce far more anxiety.. lol)
3) I really can't remember anything anymore. It's bad ~!

So wish me some luck, and I'll update in a few days with how I'm doing.. I will definitely be visiting the board, I am sure that I will need it more often!

Well this is day number 3 with no Zoloft at all.. and I'm doing ok. The diarrhea subsided finally. I have morning anxiety, definitely have to cut back on the coffee. I'm tired as hell and I get dizzy spells randomly throughout the day. Sometimes that makes it difficult if I have to drive, so I go really slowly so I don't have any problems. Yuck. But, I'm doing pretty good compared to some people that go off of these pills.

I just wanted to say that I got samples of Wellbutrin XL from my Dr. for over a year because at the time I did not have any insurance. They have tons of samples from the drug reps. I'm not pushing pills but IMHO you have the same as quit cold turkey. Be careful and don't set yourself up for further problems down the line. Because you still probably have some of the drug in your system. If your feeling so much better.....GREAT!!!! I hope it continues and I wish you luck. Take care of you. Debbie
