Any tips for seeing a new d-doc?

I'm seeing a new p-doc tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous. I've always had this idea that doctors won't believe me when I say I have anxiety and won't give me meds. I need a new prescription of Klonopin. I don't think my anxiety has ever been this bad as it as been the last few weeks. I'm afraid to just come out and ask for it directly, but at the same time I *need* it. I cannot handle the least little thing anymore. I spent the weekend having panic attacks because of being afraid of the new job offer. I have an insurance snafu I need to take care of, and I can't because I'm too afraid to pick up the phone. I thought I was going to throw up this morning when I had to call my potential new boss and negotiate the terms of my job offer. I can't handle things. Not well anyway.

And if I may ask, how often do you guys experience anxiety? I don't have a full-blown panic attack *every* day, but for the past few weeks, I have experienced *panic* every day. There's a difference. I can spend all day in this sort of heightened sense of anxiety that nothing helps to make it go away, only time. I can't take it anymore.

I should also ask her if the increased dose of Wellbutrin-XL could be contributing to this. I have heard it can cause anxiety. Is that true?

Did you have your previous records or @ least a summary sent to the new pdoc? That is very helpful for the new pdoc to determine where you are in your treatment. It stands to reason that you are stressed & anxious @ this time, Laura. I am certain the new pdoc will understand that.

As for the wellbutrin, in some folks it does cause increased anxiety. But, right from the get-go they are unable to tolerate it(JMHO). Not later when it's increased. I think you would have known this back when you were first prescribed the wellbutrin.

Laura, I agree with Jan, bringing your records is very important.
