Just wondering...

I was just wondering if I should be concerned enough about this to see my gyno...I know that stress and the anxiety can make your cycle kind of funky, and I am on birth control and have been for awhile, but ever since all this adrenal gland and anxiety stuff started I have had alot of breakthrough bleeding and some pain...I was on generic bc pills and didn't like they way they made me feel so I switched back to the namebrand, and have noticed a slight difference, but I am still concerned. It just sucks cause I am tired of seeing so many drs and its getting pricey, but my gyno usually cant get me in for a few weeks anyway...but when I do get my peiod i feel HORRIBLE...and it never used to be like that...my anxiety skyrockets, i feel sick and tired and cry all the time and I am just tired of it, and it just concerns me because of some of the cramping and whatnot that I have had....I know this is an unpleasant topic but if anyone else has experienced this that would be helpful...I probably will end up going to see her somtime in the next month but I know she is going to be prying into okay, what is going on and im tired of every "health professional" knowing my emotional state lol...Thanks guys!!

I wonder if the hormone levels in your new bc pill could have something to do with it. I know when I first went on the pill (a looooooong time ago LOL) they put me on one that was too strong for me and it made me kind of a crazy person. Mood swings, crying jags, etc. Once I got on a lower dose I was fine.

In any case you should talk to your doctor about it. I think it's good to be up front about your emotional state. There is a very definite mind/body connection so your doctor needs to know about it.

I would definately at least call your gyno and let the nurse know what is going on with the breakthru bleeding. I had that on the pill after I had my 1st baby. I had taken the same pill for years (generic) and then all of a sudden after I have a baby, my body is all different and I couldn't take that pill anymore. It could be that your hormone level has changed for some reason (hence the worsening periods and emotional state) and that pill cycle no longer works for you. I can't take any bc pills now that I have had 2 kids, my hormone up and down cycle doesn't fit with any of the pill on the market that I have tried and I get morning sickness-like nausea after a month or so of being on any pill. My gyno has said I am probably not a candidate for the pill anymore.
As far as the periods go, I have experienced some of what you are going thru in the last year or so. My periods are still regular but they are heavier and a bit crampier than usual. (I am 33) The part I don't like is that now, I get very nauseous the night before my first day, then the day I start, I am exhausted, like pregnancy exhausted where I can barely function!! Then the next day I am always better, just the normal emotional wreck since YES my anxiety is worse during my period AND I get alot more dizzy on my period too. I hope you can find a solution that works for you. I know what you mean about not wanting to explain your emotional state to everyone. I always feel like the second I tell the Dr I have anxiety, they want to attribute every symptom to that and forget the rest. Anyway, call your gyno and talk to the nurse, she can relay your message and maybe the dr will even call you back or want to see you sooner than waiting 2 wks to get in. Good Luck hon!! Hugs Erin

I would go to the ob/gyn if I were you. I don't know much about PMD & PPMD(did I spell those right???) but perhaps you have a mild form of it. I DO know from experience that when *innards* in one area aren't working well, they tend to be *off* in another area too. It's kind of tricky business to get all of them functioning in tandem. I wish you well, Krista! GBH jan

Definitely call your doc, maybe it can be taken care of over the phone even.
