short rant: Employee "benefits"

So my employers' prescription benefit company has been sending my p-doc letters every month about the meds I'm on. Because there is no generic equivalent, and they want him to prescribe something cheaper. Well they called me this evening - my "benefits specialist" - to tell me how much $$$ they could save ME if they switched me to another med. I explained to the guy I'm on a new med, and there's no generic equivalent. I told him I hard such a hard time finding the right med there's no way I'm switching! Man, if only they knew what we go through.

I hate that they're trying to act like the only benefit is saving ME money. They just want to save their own money.

ITA with you. Since I have had to try several meds in a row, until the one that covered my panic attacks was found, I feel your pain. I say *stick to your guns.* Your med is necessary to your mental health & that's all the explanation that is needed. GL! (((hugs))) jan

That is totally unfair.

No - they have been bugging my p-doc without success, so I think they decided to bug me directly. I don't have to change meds on their account. He said he would just make a note of my response. Hopefully they won't bug me any more. Heck, I'd pay for it all out of pocket if I had to.
