Update after Dr appt.....

Well, if you checked the icon, you know its not bad!! LOL! But I had to find out anyway, you know??? My NP says its an inflammation of that thick muscle you have between and around your ribs (you know what I mean if you have ever eaten spare ribs right?). It could be that after my chiropractor appt on Thurs, one of my ribs got knocked in the wrong place and has been rubbing. That's why it only hurts badly if I cough or do anything forceful to that area. I asked over and over and she PROMISED me that there was nothing that felt swollen there and there is no major organ in that area that could be inflammed or bulging. So I DON'T have an ulcer, or a hernia or any of the other bad things I thought it could be. I was a little embarrassed but like I told her, with my anxiety, I needed the reassurance and the piece of mind to know that it was nothing serious. She seems to understand, I just hope she doesn't think I am a wacko hypochondriac. That is how I feel when I get like this. Now, of course, I am doing fine since I know what it is. She said I could take some ibuprofen for the inflammation and that if it is still bothering me in a couple days to go back to the chiro and have her check it out (I already have an appt for Thurs made from last week, so that's good). Anyway, thanks all of you for supporting my hysteria and helping me see that it wasn't anything life-threatening (working on this in therapy). It really helped me get thru the weekend without making a bee-line for the ER. I got to give my NP an update on my therapy and meds also so it was worth the trip to do that. Thank God my deductible was already met and my ins pays 90%!!!! LOL! Thank you all again for being there. I want to try to make it for chat tomorrow night after my daugther's dance class. I'm on the West Coast so its 6-8pm here for chat!! I will probably be stopping in around in the middle sometime, I hope some of you are still there!! Hoping to talk to you all soon! Hugs, Erin

I'm glad you are feeling reassured. You should be proud of yourself for not beelining it to the ER this weekend! I know you were really worried. Good for you.

Yay Erin!!! I am so glad to hear that!! And that makes alot of sense...I see a chiropractor on a weekly basis and have had my ribs and stuff get sore a few times after an adjustment...I am sooo glad you see a chiro too...I worked for mine for over two years and learned so much about how it helps your body and immunity and overall health...because I know when all of this first started and I wasnt taking any meds or anything that my adjustments were some of the only things that relaxed me and made me feel good, so def keep seeing that chiro!! But Im so glad you found out, and see now don't you feel better? lol...I have my first appt with my new endocrinologist tomorrow to do more hormone testing and see if what my naturopath is doing is helping my adrenals and whatnot...im a little nervous about that...i hope she is nice...where on the West Cosast do you live? My best friend lives in California, in West Hollywood. I have been out to visit her a few times and I love it, havent been there in a couple years due to outrageous plane ticket prices lol...i live on the East Coast in Virginia...but anywho...Im so glad and come chat tomorrow if you can!! Hugs :)

Thanks Krista!! Yes, I LOVE my chiro!!! She is awesome! She is also a licensed clinician (?I think that's it) and does NET therapy, have you heard of that??? Its sort of an energy indicator or clearing process??? I am probably explaining that all wrong, but it is great. I started seeing mine 3yrs ago when I had my first bout with severe anxiety. I always felt SO awesome after I left her office, like I was floating. Not only would she adjust my neck that was ALWAYS out, but would do the NET to help me with my emotional state too. At first I went twice a week, then once, then every other, you know how it goes. Now I am on a PRN (as needed) basis only but I usually go once a month or so. Since I started going, I am way more in tune with my body and I can tell when my neck needs adjusting. Thurs when I saw her, my whole upper back was out, she said I had parts going east and west in my upper back and had some ribs out, so I am thinking that during the adjustment, my ribs got worked wrong, or were in the wrong spot for so long that they rubbed and got inflammed and I only noticed it when they were back in their proper place! I have had so much relief since I saw her though, no more tension headaches!! I will see her again this Thurs and hopefully we can get this all worked out!! I am really relieved to know it is nothing serious, just uncomfortable. Thank you so much for thinking of me and hoping for the best!! Oh, and I live in NE Oregon, so I am a long way from Hollywood!! LOL! Its beautiful up here too though!! Hugs, Erin

I may have told this story before. Back in the olden days, I decided to take tennis lessons & be just like Chrissie Evert & do her famous two handed backhand. I practiced endlessly to be like my hero:) I pulled the muscles on my sternum & had severe chest pain. It got worse with each breath. I swore that I was a goner;) After a trip to the ER, I was pronounced AOK & sent on my merry way. These muscle disturbances can really throw us for a loop! Glad to hear you're AOK, Erin! (((hugs))) jan
