Really scared

I started feelin light headed and weak last night and continued to have these braid zaps. I took an anitvan and was able to sleep. When I got up this morning, I fainted. I stayed in bed all day because I feel dizzy and faint. I'm getting over a cold with chest congestion, so I'm hoping that is all it is. The thing that scares me is that when I took wellbutrin, after 2 months on it, I was having bad fainting spells and had to stop taking it. I've been on paxil for 9 months, so I really hope this isn't from my meds. It has been working so well for me and I would hate to stop taking it. When I'm not on an ad, I have such severe anxiety that I've been suicidal. Please pray for me that the fainting/dizziness is only from a virus!

sinus trouble----- I FELT DIZZY! I did not faint- however I have
a tendency to become ANXIOUS when I am sick!! I have more anxiety than
normal when sick. I hope it is not the Paxil!! I take Paxil and have
for years and do very well with it-- I hope it continues to help you.
Take care and try to keep your mind busy with other things!!
Hugs! Judy
(((Candace))) I am very familiar with getting my real illness mixed up with my meds. It seems that these anxious thoughts keep us pretty much playing what I call *connect the dots.* Rather than go with the virus theory, we have some sort of need to tie how we're feeling in with the meds. It may be because so many of us are suspicious of meds & in my case, terrified of them.
I will vote for the virus theory & send P&PT's that this will pass. 9 months on paxil would be a very unusual time to begin having side effects. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will post a good update soon! jan
Thank you for the encouraging words. I figures after being on paxil for 9 months, I should have those kind of side effects. It so sad how we anxiety sufferers connect everything to our meds or anxiety. I too have higher anxiety when I'm ill. It's like I'm afraid the physical symptoms are actually anxiety not illness. Then, of course, it usually is just an illness. Sheesh. We can really be our own worst enemies at times!
Thank you for the pt's and prayers!
Hope you are feeling better today! Please keep us posted! I recently started Wellbutrin about 2 weeks ago and wondered when you started to feel the effects of the meds? Your fainting spells happened 2 months after you on the med? Did you have other symptoms? Look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks!
Hope that virus goes away quickly!
Hugs!

Sending hugs. I'm on new meds and can relate. My doctor put me on a beta blocker yesterday to go along with the xanax, since I still have heart palpitations and am lightheaded. He said sometimes we can't tell if the anxiety brings on the physical symptoms or vice versa, like which came first, the chicken or the egg.
A nurse friend did tell me there's a virus going around with dizziness. Let's hope it clears for you quickly - take care! AJ
hey candace,
how are you doing now?
I'm feeling less faint today, but still sick. I'm going to see the doctor in about 2 hours. The brain zaps are gone, so I'm sure it is all from having some sort of virus. I'll let you know when I get home.
P.S. Heather, it is good to hear from you. I've been wondering about you. How are things?
Lynn - I felt great on wellbutrin, but unfortunatley is was about 2 months after starting it that I was fainting. My doc. & I knew it was a risk because I have a history of blacking out and fainting. I was sad to go off it because I felt really good on it. I hope it works for you!
Thanks so much for letting me know about wellbutrin! I have been so nervous about starting a new med! I appreciate your input!
Feel better! Please keep us posted!
Warm regards!
Lynne

I had something like that this past fall. I was incredibly light headed because my blood pressure was next to nothing--my primary care doctor almost admitted me to the hospital for observation and fluids, actually. I had a fever and basically felt very weak. I had no appetite and was very nauseous, but had no other symptoms. The main thing is that I was so weak. It was horrible.
I know that it's really hard to take anything in when we're nauseated. Dizziness & weakness CAN be early signs of dehydration. If you've been sick, nauseated, diarrhea, feverish, producing lots of mucous with a cold or cough, etc. your body is working harder &
