Hello all. I have a question about a weird episode I had last night, and am wondering if it could have been some kind of anxiety-related attack.
I work late hours and was on the train home, thinking about stressful things. I recently was diagnosed with high grade cervical dysplasia - stage 3 precancer. I am scheduled for surgery march 26th to remove part of my cervix. I have never had any kind of surgery before, so its really worrying me. the procedure i am having done can affect fertility and ability to hold a pregnancy. i am also in the middle of planning my wedding, which has been increasingly stressful. thats the history of what has been going on, which may have led to my episode, but i have no idea. so, as i am sitting in the train, trying to read a magazine but really only thinking about my diagnosis and surgery, my stomach started feeling uneasy. i felt very very weak, even lifting my arms was tiring, and i was trembling. i also got very hot and started sweating profusely. before the episode started, i felt like i was going to cry, but during it, i didnt have that feeling. it lasted about 15 minutes, until i got off the train, my fiance picked me up and we went home, and i started to feel better. once i started to feel better, i was really hungry...weirdly hungry, craving everything. i normally eat like a bird and dont tend to get such strong cravings.
does this sound like anything anyone has heard of? anxiety related? or just stress related? i dont tend to stress easily, but the news has been pretty hard on me. thanks in advance for any advice.

However, we are NOT professionals & cannot give you a diagnosis. The best thing you can do for yourself is to make an appointment with your dr. & have a check-up. There are medical conditions such as thyroid or blood sugar problems that can cause anxiety. When your dr. makes the determination, you can decide what course of action to take. Perhaps meds are needed? Or therapy to discuss your problems & learn new ways to cope with stress? Take a minute to read through our *coping tips & tricks* folder below. There are ways you can teach yourself to handle stress & anxious feelings better.
Please let us know what you find out. We care & want to help however we can. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
It sure sounds like anxiety, but like Jan said, go see a doctor for a firm diagnosis.
