weakness anyone?

I need some reassurance. I have not slept good in about a week (baby had surgery earlier this week and dh has been working alot). Yesterday afternoon I started feeling a little dizzy and really weak all over and nauseated. I do have Hashimoto's thyroiditis which I'm not being treated for yet. I am going to see an endocrinologist next month. Do you think this could be from my anxiety/panic or possibly from exhaustion. Please help! My usual catastrophic thinking - I want to go to the ER feelings are kicking in! Thanks.

Hi, Kelli! That's a shame you're feeling as you do. You have to admit that you've been under some major stressors. That in itself can lend to what you're feeling, as it is a symptom of anxiety for many. OTOH, you have the thyroid & always the possibility of having picked up a virus along the way. It's easy for us to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Try to keep things in perspective. You are young. You enjoy good health. The thyroid is not life threatening or they wouldn't have you waiting to see the endo for a month. You are living a healthy lifestyle. Blast the negative thinking with all the positives you can think of.
Do the best that you can. Keep physically busy(as if you AREN'T already as a mom w/kids;) & get involved in mental tasks that keep you distracted. If you still don't feel better & your anxious *what ifs* get ahead of you, then call the dr.
As time passes, you will learn better ways to cope with these feelings. I know that because I learned it first hand. I just came in from shovelling snow. We had a major storm & I shovelled alot yesterday too. I had a slight twinge of chest pain & immediately thought it was my heart): I began to feel weak. Good heavens! Of course I do. I just shovelled a ton of snow & it's time for lunch. So, as my soup nukes, I quick got on here to check my e-mails & the board. I am reassuring myself that all is ok. The twinge has passed. I had heart tests early last year & passed w/flying colors. I am able to belly breathe & plan to watch a comedy(Fast Food Nation) that I got from Netflix.
Take care of yourself. We care & know that you are working towards recovery. GL & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
Hey Kelli...I am so sorry you are feeling this way...it is probably a mixture of all of it you are stressed and tired from not sleeping well and the baby, especially if your dh is not around alot, but I am really surprised they did not start you on anything for your thyroid...was it your regular doctor who found it? I know from my own experience that it is really hard to get into a endocrinologist, but maybe you could call them and tell them what is going on and your symptoms, or tell your doctor to call them sometimes the doctors have some sway way with specialists to get you in sooner...i have thyroid and adrenal problems myself, and those were alot of my symptoms when it started really badly, but I see a Naturopath doctor for mine instead of a medical doctor because I am very sensitive to meds so I am not sure what drugs they can put you on for your condition...but try to find something to relax you, like if the baby is sleeping take a breather for yourself and relax with a book or some music, or just rest...but if you think you need to be seen by a doctor or your symptoms get worse, by all means have someone see you...I know once you get your thyroid somewhat strait you will feel better, because I did...what does dh say? I hate to bother my husband when I am not feeling well, but lots of times just having him sit with me or a backrub helps alot...please let me know how you are feeling and know that we are here for you!! But try to get some rest, it will help alot and your body needs it...much luv and hugs!!
