Can anyone recommend a good nerve pill? I know none of you are doctors...I don't think anyway, LOL. Are there any pills out there that help you calm down during a panic attack, on an 'as needed' basis? I can't have anything that really knocks me out, because I have the 5 kids and I'm going to be starting school on Monday.

Any info would be appreciated...thanks alot!

This is not to be considered a reccomendation... just my experience
I have a hiatory of what I believe to be anxiety and depression. last year iwent through my works EAP program and saw a therapist who was associated wit ha Psychiatrist.
Part of my issues were i would get very wound up at night. Would be sitting there watching TV and it felt like my heart was going to jump right out of my chest. If I woke up at night, thought frequently came to work or what needed to be done and when that happened, I got up because I new I wasn't going to go back to sleep.

He prescriped Wellbutrin, for my depression and I never really gave it a chance. AS my prime work season is arriving, I have started to take it again and need to find a new therapist/ psych

Finally ...to answer your question, he prescribed Klonopin (sp?). I would take it at night and would sleep though the night. I could also take durig the day as well.
Hope this helps.

Klonopin & ativan seem to be the two that are prescribed the most often.

Hi, Amy! LTNS;) I would totally leave this decision up to my dr. He knows my health history the best & what would work well for my system. I had a problem getting *off* xanax many years ago. I took it EXACTLY as prescribed. That scares me about the *as needed* meds. I have taken klonopin since & didn't have trouble discontinuing it on several occasions, but I am gun shy so to speak. I could NOT wake up for days after one ativan. Keep in mind that all meds effect each person differently. GL! Let us know what you decide. (((hugs))) jan

I'm going to ask my doctor if he can prescribe me something like that. I go back in a couple months, so we'll see what happens. I have a couple other friends on Klonopin, or however you spell it, LOL.

Thanks y'all!!
