Hi Friends I am sharing a post I made to the ALCOHOL ABUSE SITE!!
THIS IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION I PRAY!!!!!!!
I am always afraid of losing him but now I realize he is LOST and
I NEVER REALLY "HAD" HIM------- thanks for reading!!
AFTER SO LONG I CANNOT TAKE ANOTHER DAY OF HEARING HOW WRONG I AM!!!!!
here is my post:
Hi I am new to this board I hang out in the anxiety and panic boards!!
I have been married to a wonderful but ever changing man for 37 years!!
My husband is a binge drinker and has behaviors that are getting out of
control! We are retired now and supposed to be living the dream life
after teaching for 35+ years I NEED TO RELAX!!lol anyway he puts me down
most of the time!!!! Very OFTEN nothing I say is right or "acceptable"
be it what I say or do-- he is constantly grumpy and judgmental of others
he acts like a VERY ANGRY MAN!! even when not drinking--- IS THIS NORMAL with
someone who drinks too much??? By too much I am talking he does not stop until
he falls asleep- runs out of booze OR gets bored with himself!!!!!!! NO ONE
WANTS TO BE NEAR HIM WHEN HE DRINKS!! it seems his personality carries over into
a day of no drinking IS THIS NORMAL FOR A "DRINKER" I survived an abuse childhood
married this wonderful man who drank too much too often--- we raised 3 children
who IGNORE my concerns related to this--- oh he doesn't mean it etc etc
I AM SICK OF IT!!!!! I worked full time raised 3 children took care of it all and
now am STUCK WITH THIS IRRASIBLE OLD MAN!!!!! who is NOT OLD but seems so----
PLEASE CONSIDER YOURSELF WHEN YOU STAY WITH SOMEONE WHO CONTINUTALLY SAYS
I WILL STOP+++ I WILL TRY TO STOP++++ I DID NOT MEAN IT++++++ I WAS ONLY KIDDING+++
and all the other nauseating things he says to me when he breaks my heart
IN FRONT OF OUR CHILDREN- FRIENDS- NEIGHBORS- STRANGERS OR ANYONE AROUND!!!!!
He has NO RESPECT FOR ME OR OUR MARRIAGE OR HIMSELF and I have panic disorder and
realize it is because I never know "HOW HE IS GOING TO BE"
ANY SUGGESTIONS QUOTES OR THOUGHTS APPRECIATED!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Judy

Thx for sharing, Judy. I know that life is a struggle even under the best of circumstances. With a substance abuser in the house, it is hell. Reaching out for help is always a good thing. I am getting much needed help from Al-Anon meetings. Because of my trials @ this time, I can only send P&PT's your way. You know I love you & want the very best for you! (((hugs))) jan

(((Judy))) my heart goes out to you. I can't know your pain but I can feel it from your post and wish I could make it all better. My DD is in the process of a divorce with an alcoholic and our problems with him have already begun.

You're in my thoughts and prayers.
