Has anyone ever read the book "A Cure For All Diseases" by Hulga Clark? Well it explains that b/c of Americans' diets today, several life cycles of parasites are inside of us & that's why we have diseases. Well my son is also sick a lot. So I asked idiot why he thought my son came home from school with a migraine again. He said b/c he has too many parasites in him!! Thinking he's just not on the same page, I got into the shower & proceeded to have a bad panic attack. I don't need to start doubting the competency of our drs right now b/c that's all I have. Any thoughts or suggestions? My son has had all kinds of bloodwork & his immune system tested & he's always been very sick from October until April. He's been like this since age 3 (he's now 14). Is this just a far out alternative health thing or should I believe my son is infested with worms?

(((Duranny))) I am unsure about this parasite stuff. Frankly, I have feeds coming into my pc with the latest medical news & I have not heard about this. We all have parasites living on our bodies, on our skin, etc. but they aren't worms. They are good bacteria that we need for digestion purposes. Little (as in microscopic) mites that clean up our dead skin cells. And so on.
As for actual worms, there are tests that can be done on a stool specimen to check for worms. Worms that are picked up usually when travelling to foreign countries or living in unsanitary conditions put people's systems all out of whack. Though they can't be seen in a specimen, the bloodwork would be *off* & the person would have major organ failures that would be seen by the doctor's exam.
In this day & age, I would feel confident in what your ds's recent lab tests indicated. Some kids are like this. Many grow out of it. I had a cousin who was very ill for years with a confirmed immune system problem. She was *nearly* one of these bubble kids you probably have read about. She grew out of it & is a happy healthy college student.
All of us with anxiety go through things like this. It's common to us. It's scary. But IMHO, it is best to deal with positives only. To focus on good things. To trust our health care professionals unless they suggest a treatment that we are uncomfortable with. For all practical purposes, focus on the present. The here & now.
What I have told you is what I believe & shouldn't be taken as the gospel truth. You need to seek professional advice for that if you're unclear about your ds's condition. I wish you & your ds well. GL & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
Hello there...I just thought i would give you some ideas since I worked with a chiropractor for over two years and am seeing a naturopath...I wouldnt freak out about parasites, but everyone's immune system can get compromised and it can be helped. One idea is to find a good, gentle chiropractor in your area, even better if you can find one that works on a lot of kids, and get him in to start getting regular adjustments. the chiropractor i worked for was a full spectrum chiropractor, and the basic goal of chiro care is not just relieve back pain and stuff...getting your spine ajusted boosts up your immune system greatly and with regular care can be highly beneficial...i suffered from horrid around the year sinus infections and daily headaches, migraines at least once a month, and after I started working for him and getting adjusted weekly i get very few headaches anymore, and havent had a sinus infection in almost two years...it is also very effective for children that have ear infections...its all based on that the body can heal itself...of course you will still need a med doc, but trust me seeing a chiro would be great for him, and you as well. and its normal for kids right when they start to sleep more or possibly get a fever or something because adjustments release toxins into the body and the fever and sleeping or anything else is the body's way of healing itself and getting better. Another thing to do is maybe find a naturopath doctor...I am seeing one for my health stuff and they tend to deal more with the body and how it works instead of just medication, and actually can find out if something is compromising his immune system..they have diff tests than regular medical docs...I just wanted to give you some ideas...from my experience i know that these help, and i would search for these doctors yourself instead of asking your medical doc because alot of med docs dont approve or believe in what alternative medicine does, but im living walking proof that it works...i wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for my naturopath...but anyway sorry this turned into a novel lol...and just something else i am going to be working for my naturopath part time soon and she just got a machine in called an ion cleanse machine...it detoxes your body you just stick your feet in this tub of warm water with this machine and it pulls all the nasty stuff out of your body, and it is safe for children to do, and it will pull parasites out if there are any, so that is something to think about. I did it once and it was pretty amazing what it pulled out of me...so look into that too. but don't freak out, and think about finding some alternative stuff!! good luck

Frankly I would be very skeptical. Who is this person? What are her credentials? What has she written or done in the past? If you know nothing about this person and can't find out I would not go by this. For reliable advice you should go to http://www.medlineplus.gov. All of the sources on the site are verified as reliable accurate information.
I was a fairly sickly child, and got strep every year and was always down with something. I had mono at age 9, and a similar virus a year or two later. But by high school I had mostly outgrown that and my immune system became stronger. Some kids are just more susceptible than others to illness. Perhaps he just needs to take more precautions than other kids with things such as handwashing, etc.
Honestly, unless you eat uncooked pork or other raw meats it is not something I would ever be concerned about. The only other possibility is if you've traveled to a third world country like India.
Nope, I've never heard of the book.
