I've had driving anxiety for a long time. I'm generally fine driving around town and within a couple of hours of home, but often have my worst anxiety on long trips. I don't let it keep me from driving, though. I just plan ahead the best I can, to make sure I'm not going through cities at rush hour or things like that. I also know that if I have an attack, I can pull over and wait it out, then get back at it. I can't tell you how many times I've done this. There are certain cities I cannot drive through, though. Chicago is a no-no. So is Toronto. If I have to go by either of those cities, I plan a route that takes me around them. Milwaukee is a challenge, but doable. Thankfully, I live in a small town and rarely have to drive to or near large cities.

I voted other because I am okay when I drive but if someone else is driving, I have huge anxiety. I can barely ride on the highway with my husband.

When my anxiety was @ its worst, I didn't drive for 3 years. I got myself straightened around & am ok today. I still have triggers such as bridges, tunnels & heavy traffic, but can belly breathe through it. jan
