Right now my left hip has given out and I was going to ask my doctor for a cortisone shot so that I can walk.

Hi Sue,
I am sorry to hear that your hip went out. May 10 seems like such a long time to me. Maybe that is because I am counting the days until we leave. If you are in pain and can't wait, I would ask for the cortisone shot. Just have your doctor notate it in your records so you can take that to your SS doctor appointment.
That is my 2 cents anyway. I hope you feel better. Good luck with the appointment.
Take care.
Love and hugs,

Like you say Mollie it is the everyday stuff - yesterday I was at the grocery store checkout and was struggling to get the money out of my billfold (my right hand is curling in and kind of useless).
Sue, yep -- gotta watch the mouth!

Dodger will be ready in two weeks - of course with the hip being a problem I afraid that I will not be that energetic for him.
2 wks to Dodger dog YIPPI!!!!
I talked to a guy who has just gone through hip replacements one was done the old way . The last one the new way. He said hed highly recommend the new approach. even if younhave to go a lil farther for it I`d go for it. I have had all my surgeries for feet and now hand an hour and half drive from house. To me it was worth the drive. And we had to do a lot of going back and forth. In fact I will be making the drive back up on the 11th to get this cast off my hand.
Good luck Sue I hope all goes well.

Sue, as far as I could see on their website, St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, CA, does minimally invasive hip surgery.
