Not a roll call exactly, but just how and what you're doing these days.

Hi Molly! I've been kind of MIA lately due to some really bad computer problems. I had the Cool Web Search virus, along with a ton of other nasty stuff. Apparently, it's one of the most invasive and hardest to get rid of. I think (fingers crossed) I finally got rid of it though.
RA wise, I've been feeling SO much better now that I'm back on track with Enbrel. I still can't believe I don't have to pay for it anymore. I received my second shipment this morning, right on time. The weird irony though is that they won't pay for Celebrex, but they'll pay 100% for a hugely expensive drug like Enbrel. I don't get it. My PCP is appealing their decision though, so hopefully I can go back on it. In the meantime I've just been taking Naproxin and Tylenol, which are okay, but they don't last as long.
Thank heavens the humidity is finally gone! I felt like I was back in Michigan. Our low clouds have moved right back in and really cooled things off. I'm so glad you were able to find your raft! It's crazy how the stores stock so far ahead of the season. I went shopping for a pair of shorts yesterday and it's slim pickins. All the sweaters and winter coats are out.
Take care!

Well I`m just doin one exercise after nother here. And hanging from that traction rig. Today was a really really good day Thank you Jesus I`ll take it!!!\Tom is remicade day so I will be pretty much wiped out the rest of the day.
We finally got some relief from the heat and humidity here in NEOH.Suppose to be very nice the next few days.
I am reading some good books and enjoying the summer heat and all.
Keep on floating Molly. LOve you Bev
Hi Molly,
I have been good. Neck and shoulders hurt a little, nothing out of the ordinary. Summer is a good time for me. I have been busy doing a lot of nothing. Lots of e-mails going through my computer!! My dd is still giddy with the new boy friend and things are progressing rapidly. He has met all the family, including Uncle Guido (LOL) and likes them and he is liked as well. Friday afternoon, my dil started having contractions. They admitted her into the hospital for six hours and ran a bunch of tests. One of which said there was a 95% chance that she would not deliver in the next two weeks. They sent her home. She is still having minor contractions every five minutes. She is at 33 weeks now and the baby is about 4 1/2 lbs. My dil is so done with this pregnancy, she has had it with the gestational diabetes, a broken air conditioner with 103 degree heat, not gaining the weight like she should be and now pain every 5 minutes. She has demanded a box of Sees Chocolates when she delivers Emily!!! Heehee!!! So that is about it from Sacramento!!
Hugs, Vicki
Hi Molly,
Well as I wait for some pain meds to kick in so I can sleep I'll give ya a quick lowdown of my summer.
My yoga retreat was amazing, I met so many great gals with lots of knowledge and spirituality. It was grounding and quiet and needed. I benefitted greatly from not only the yoga but all the time spent in meditation. I actually got to the point for once in my life where the mind was blissfully quiet. I haven't been able to recreate it yet, but I'm hopeful. It was after a reiki session just before pm yoga started. It was truly heavenly. So I'm pursuing more yoga and meditation and trying to incorporate both into my busy daily life.
The kids are great, busy and I'm hoping to fit them into a daycamp at our local pool next week. With this flare I barely have the energy to brush my teeth, let alone keep them occupied, and they are a little bored this week.
Speaking of the beast (my flare) it just plain sucks. I'm in alot of pain and my rhuemy took me off the indocid and replaced it with another old anti inflammitory that I can't remember the name of. I like the one day enbrel so far, and I've been taking more pain meds than I like. He said no to my request for predinsone. My only hang up is that my energy levels are at a minus level. Every little thing sucks me dry. I just want to feel rested and able to function at some point soon. It sucks. It really really sucks, I haven't felt this useless for a number of years.
And the rest of august is busy with hockey camp, camping with friends and our holiday to the mountains. So maybe you could send me a little energy vibe and I'll make it through the summer unscathed!
The weather here has been pretty uneventful. Cloudy but not too hot. I feel for ya gals sweating it out down south.
We are in the middle of reno's and we will be siding and replacing windows in 2 weeks. We still haven't picked our siding color/ trim color. Its hard! Too many choices and we dont' want to go tan/beige/sandstone like 3 other houses on our block. But neutrals are in around here so well see. Maybe we'll get funky and do beige siding with burgandy trim!
Thats it. My meds have kicked in and I gotta get some sleep.
Take care of you.

sorry for the scatterbrained post!
Well, so far, my summer has been lots of work. I have given my employer fair warning that after this run of trials, I'm cutting back. Everything just came together in the "perfect storm" this year.
I've been lots of places but haven't seen much of anything but cities through conference room or court windows, airports, and hotels. DH tagged along, and did manage to eke out a few days on the Oregon coast, Boston, and Santa Fe. We plan a longer vacation (maybe the South Pacific to meet up with our DS and DIL who are still wandering around in the tsunami area of the Indian Ocean) this fall. (For those who don't know, my son is an oceanographer and marine biologist and involved in the earthquake/volcanic research, while my DIL is the EMT on the research ship.) Hope that works out. If not, DH and I will find something to amuse ourselves for a couple of weeks.
I hear you about the lack of summer merchandise. I managed to ruin my white jacket and wanted to replace it. Huge shopping center--lots and lots of stores--not a white or off-white jacket to be seen. I do really like the fall clothes though--love the colors. However, I could not bring myself to try on heavy clothes when it was over 100 degrees out.
RA wise--I've been better, but I've also been worse. We take what we can get, huh? Well, to work.
Rosemary
Hi Molly,
I also completely understand the merchandise situation. One of the moms in our neighborhood said that the Easter bunny brings the pool stuff otherwise she can never find what she wants!
This has been a hectic summer here too. RA-wise I am doing really well (knock, knock). I am just waiting until this afternoon which is my last lecture this summer and I give finals next Thurs and then we are off to Jekyll Island for a quick vacation before fall semester starts on 8/18. I am hoping to only teach one class next summer since everyone in our family was sick at least 2 times this semester.
The only good thing about school supplies coming out is that it reminds me that fall will be here at some point and save us from the 95+ degree days with 90% humidity. Georgia sucks this summer.

Barb, I'm so glad the Enbrel is helping you once again.

SO glad that heat wave is over. It was brutal. Looking forward to our trip to the coast of Maine end of August. Even when we were in the high 90s, Maine was in the 80s. I think I am going to LOVE it there. Work is very very busy, but that's good...just hate when it gets really stressful. My hip pain has gone away EXCEPT if I pivot or try to stand with my hip stuck out to one side then OOWWWWWWW!! I'll mention at my next rheumy appt. but I am not willing to up meds because of it. My dad has a cough and fever thing, hoping to NOT get that. Going tonight to Starbucks with my niece to try the Green Tea Frappucino. I heard it's yummy!
