Well I have a throbber and of course I cant spell / type under duress and I tend not to like badly ? written english.......
Sunday night was a shocker two badly swollen wrists and bingo I could not bend either of my wrists to feed myself ! So I threw a tantum at the dinner table. So now I have a left and a right bent spoon one for each hand, but that didnt work to well as my food went off the plate...So of course a plate guard would look just lovely on my nice plates with matching bent spoons. Of course I couldnt cut up my chicken or grind the pepper mill. Hubby got cranky because I refused to let him feed me. So I ended up eating toast.
I did all this to myself of course I ironed most of the day and even when my hands were sore I just had to get up and pull down my washed curtains and iron those as well. So a days cleaning and ironing cost me a days wages, because come monday morning I had trouble walking my hands played dead and my body just ached..I slept most of the day after ringing around trying to find staff to cover my shift... But later that day I had to go to the supermarket to buy food to cook tea for my sons birthday 19 yrs ( he helped me cook ) but after hobbling to the shops I have decided stuff it I am going to get a parking permit, I have resisited for 5 yrs because I saw it only as a "disabled label"
But come Tuesday except for my wrists which are still very very swollen I am pretty good, just a bit tired still. So I suppose my discussion is just when do we learn not to push it just that little bit further when we know we have reached our limit for the day ? I pace myself at work, but around the house I am still drowning some days because I feel okay then I pay for it.
OH well an early night 8 30 pm I am off to bed. ( our house of late... is mum & dad asleep kids still up. ) Lell.

((((((Lell)))))
I'm so sorry you went through that. I don't know what it is, but when I have a good day, I think I am invincible. Wrong!! I can understand the "tantrum" as I have had a few myself.
I hope this day is much better for you.
Sudie
(((((Lell))))) I don't know why we do this, I do it too. It feels good to get a bunch of stuff done, but we do pay dearly for it. Ironing really hurts my wrists too. I try to take breaks and not let it get too far ahead of me, but it always seems to pile up and the ironing board sits in the kitchen for days.
How do all of you deal with ironing? Does it hurt your wrists? Do you have a special iron that is lighter in weight that works as well as the others? Do you wear wrinkled clothes? Do you send it out and have someone else launder them? Let's hear how we tackle this problem or even if it is a problem for you!
Rest Lell and I hope your wrists feel better soon.
Hugs, Vicki
Lell, despite the aches and pains and swellings, you still have the ability to make me smile.

Good question, Vicki!

HI LELL!
SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOU HAD A BAD DAY. I WORK IN THE DIETARY DEPT. OF A NURSING HOME SO I KNOW ALL ABOUT THOSE CROOKED SPOONS AND PLATE GUARDS. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE THICK HANDLED ONES. THANKFULLY I HAVE NEVER HAD TO USE THEM. LELL, I OVERDUE IT ON THE DAYS I FEEL WELL TOO AND PAY FOR IT LATER. I DO IT BECAUSE I KNOW NO ONE ELSE IS GOING TO DO IT. I AM NOT GOOD AT ASKING FOR HELP. BESIDES NO ONE ELSE WOULD DO THINGS GOOD ENOUGH TO SATISFY ME.
I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER BY NOW. I THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA FOR YOU TO GET THE PARKING PERMIT.
GET WELL HUGS
CLAUDIA
