I just love haunted houses! We have a pretty good one down the street from us. The guy who lives there works for the studios in the prop department and he has the most outrageous, scary stuff. It gets better every year! It was beautiful and balmy here in Santa Monica too. I think that's why we had so many kids this year. We actually ran out of candy at 8:00, which has never happened before. My girls had a blast! My 12 year old went out on her own this year with her friends. I guess she's growing up, sigh!

We had 70 "trick or treaters" last night!! It was very nice here too. Many houses were decorated and I had a few things on the porch. The kids really went all out last night with their costumes. I love Halloween too!!!

Must have been great Halloween weather all over the west. It was warm (for mountain evenings in October) and clear here--big change from last year when it rained for several hours and then turned to snow. I can't believe it is 75 here today--November 1st. We had lots of kids come to our house--to the point that DH pulled a chair up and just sat at the door.

The office Halloween was great fun. I've never really counted the number of people who work here (38 attorneys plus all their babysitters--two downtown highrise floors of people), but we did have lots of children. Alas, my corner did not win the contest for best decorations--there's always next year.

The big surprise was the amount of money and goods raised for the Colorado Humane Society. The volunteers (in costume) and some of the dogs (a couple put up with hats)showed up in the morning. By the time they left, they had two huge pallets piled high with pet foods, blankies, treats, toys, and even some cat condos. In addition, we laid the guilt on some of the attorneys who didn't bring in donations and collected over $500 in cash. Shows you how to raise money--just bring the doggies along.

Now, it's on to Thanksgiving!

My roomies and I have lived here for 19 years and we never get trick or treaters. Of course we still have to buy 4 bags of cany just in case LOL I miss seeing the kiddos dressed up. I don't even see them walking around. I guess we are to far off the street. I'm not sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving but I have my reservations go to Seattle for Christmas to be with my sister.

Luv Ya!!

Now, Stringies -- what exactly do you all do with the bags of candy that aren't for the trick-or-treaters??

String buys 4 bags of candy and the four of them live in the house. Now what do you think happens to that candy??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oink, oink!! Just like my left overs, I am on a chocolate diet! I have got to get rid of this candy, time to eat another one!!! :o) Now is there anyone who REALLY ACTUALLY THROWS AWAY THE CANDY????
