Okay, this pain is really really getting to me...nothing is helping...not Ibuprofen, not Aleve, not the stupid Lodine my GP gave me...he won't rx anything else til I go to the Rheumy after my test results come back in...I'm totally exhausted, I mean TOTALLY exhausted...and I'm completely DEPRESSED. Did you ever get depressed? Or totally exhuasted? Does RA cause this horrible fatigue and depression?
My BP is almost secondary right now...truly. I don't even think about it much, because of this other crap that is going on with me physically! It hurts so much...my mom used to complain all the time about hurting a lot, and I used to get frustrated with her...now I KNOW! Every part of my body hurts, even my stupid eyelids!
I am going home from work in a little while to take a hot sea salt bath...I just can't sit here anymore...
My GP said it wasn't Fibro too, but I really think he is wrong...I think its both, because not only do my joints hurt like heck, but so do my muscles...its like they are screaming and my joints are yelling at me...I'm all stiff, and its hard to move...I'm typing, but my fingers don't like it one bit.
I don't know how to get through it...I'm so lost, and exhausted, and depressed...how do I get through this?

Molly
Dear ((((((((((Keli)))))))))
You will get through this, but to be quite frank, it isn't easy. You mention the eyelids hurting, mine do too and it is fibro. When the RA is attacking us, the fibro kicks in too. The fatigue and depression are all part of RA. When you feel this badly, how can you not be depressed?! The fatigue is normal, all part of RA and of course the fibro too. After I was dx with RA, I was on the couch for three months and I was on 30 mg. of Prednisone, which makes you hyper. I had suffered and worried for two months with hand and wrist pain. I watched my hands turn into boxing gloves and they were worthless. I imagined that I had cancer in my hands! My rheumy told me at that first visit that I had the severest case he had ever seen. I was dx at that first appointment. I was put on MTX (methotrexate) and prednisone. In a few days the pred started to slowly take the inflammation down and the pain was bearable again. I have never had that kind of RA pain since I started on meds. Call your GP and ask for the referral now. It is hard to get in to see a rheumy and by the time you do, the results of blood work will be in. Only a rheumy should make the diagnosis of RA, in my opinion. ;o)
Keli, you will survive this. I know how bad it is right now for you, but I promise, with modern medicine, you will improve. For right now, see if you can get a few days off and rest. Your body needs to rest. I know it isn't easy with a family. Find some rice bags and get some Thermacare patches. They really do help, but do not use them together on the same spot.
I am praying for you and sending cyber hugs. Please continue to use this board to vent and let the frustration out. We all understand and are here for you.

My heart is just breaking for you. Everything you are going through is so normal when you have a disorder that causes so much pain. Yes, I have gotten depressed because of my pain level. I still do from time to time now, 5 years later.
