WOW!!! You should have heard all of the colorful words coming from my mouth yesterday!!!
So, after my breif relapse in taking my medication I have decided I need to start up again. So last week I called to refill my Humira. It was supposed to get delivered on Friday. Friday morning I get a call saying the are mailing it Friday for Saturday delivery. Good thing they called because I normally get it sent to work. I gave them my new home address since I was going to be home all day Saturday.
Saturday comes and goes and I completly forgot I was supposed to get my delivery. I'm not used to getting it delivered at home. So yesterday I called to confirm that it wasn't sent and when I should be getting it. I was first told it would be sent out then for the next day... a red flag came up... so I asked why it wasn't sent on Friday. Then I was told it WAS sent on Friday. The tracking number shows that FedEx tried delivering it Saturday but I wasn't home and the office was closed. What a line of crap!!! I was home all day and our office was open. So, I confirmed that it was delivered on Tuesday to my office (my leasing office) but FedEx did not leave me a message telling me they delivered it to another location. What a mess.
So my pharmacy told me I had to call Abbott to ask if the med was still good and if not ask for a replacement. Well, it wasn't ok and they wouldn't replace it. So I called the pharmacy back and they said they wanted to charge my insurance again. What a mess!!! And FedEx won't pay because they don't insure the packages. Stupid...
Anyhow, after many calls and much stress on my part, the pharmacy replaced my Humira.
Moral of the story... don't run out of my meds and don't forget when it supposed to be delivered!!!
Signing off to go inject myself...

Michele, I have private insurance and Jim has his own private policy. When he was covered by work, we didn't give insurance much thought. He quit and we went on Cobra. I had some tendonitis in my shoulder then and that was it. I was turned down for family private insurance. Jim got his own policy and I stayed on Cobra. Finally after a year of no meds and no doctor visits re: the shoulder, Blue Cross took me as a level 2. Jim has Blue Shield. We are sucked into this till we turn 65. This was pre RA, FM, OA, etc.!!!
Our health system here in the U.S. stinks. I am just thankful I do not have a HMO!!

Diane, it would certainly seem so.

Vicki, this is so ridiculous, but it happens all the time.
