Hi everyone!

Help quick! I need a cheap place to stay in NYC for the last part of July. If anyone knows of a place or a resource that I might look, PLEASE let me know! Thanks!

Hi, glad you hear you will be visiting the city. There's just soooo much to see and do. I'm going to try and put some web site addresses here. I don't know if you can find a hotel with them but they are good sources to find restaurants and other things that you might find interesting. Try hotels.com and the usual hotel web site. There are so many hotels in NYC, I'm sure find something reasoably priced.

Let me try to post the links in my next posting.

Okay, let's see if I can do this.

Hmmm, I don't see them like links but maybe when I post it they will be highlighted in blue and turn into links. I'll cross my fingers.

Hi.

One of the cheapest places to stay in NYC is at the YMCA. You can find listings for area Y's at their website at www.YMCA.org. If you willing to stay in a near by suburb you might be able to find a Y in the NYC area that has rooms available. One of the Y's in Manhattan that rents rooms is the West Side Y, but they may not have rooms available when you are going to be in town. If they are booked during the time you're going to be in the city they can probably suggest affordable places where you might be able to stay. The Westside Y has a listing of youth hostels that are available in the area. Another website that you might want to visit is www.YWCA.org. They also have Y's around the city where you might be able to rent a room.

I've lived in NYC for the last 20 years. It's a great place to visit as long as you have an affordable place to stay. While you're here check out the Village Voice, you can get them free at different bookstores and record stores around the city. You can also check out their website at www.villagevoice.com. The Voice has a listing of all of the events that are happening around the city. During July and August there are lots of free outdoor music, theatre and dance concerts throughout the city.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

I just learned of another web site where you can find hotels. I've never used it so I don't know how good it is or isn't. Here's the address:

Good luck with your trip,
