Thanksgiving suggestion for dieters

My mother and I started a tradition a couple yeas ago for Thanksgiving day. First thing when we get up we got for an intensive jog/run. We usually go a little further and a little faster than normal and get our metabolisms up for the day. Then we might take a quick walk before dinner. That wasy our metabolisms are up when we eat so the food burns faster. And we can take a nice long nap after food. If we really feel up to it sometimes we take another quick stroll later in the afternoon.
We also work together to stop each other from eating after we're full.
