I can and cannot relate, I can because mental illnesses run in my family, my mother became bipolar 9 years ago now and completely lost her job and was hospitalized. I'm on medication for anti-anxiety as it stands now, but I have had no attacks except for an episode of depression that was caused by uncontrolable circumstances.

i can relate to the compulsive overeating. i used to be a sneak and binge eater, too, especially with snacks. is there one particular type of food that you turn to for comfort? do you tell yourself that certain foods are bad or off-limits? i know that i used to eat for comfort because i didn't feel that i could talk to anyone about my problems, but one thing that seems to help is journaling (not keeping a food journal, but writing down what's bothering me). it gets everything out and i don't feel that i have to stuff it down with food. have you ever thought about that?
