Are on-line friends real friends?

  • Yes-of course they are
  • No, they can't really be because you don't really know them
  • I don't have any on-line friends but I guess it's possible
  • All my friends are people I've met on-line

I have yet to meet (face to face) a cyber friend that I wouldn't have chosen to be a real life friend given the chance...

I consider my online friends to be real friends. I've been online since 1998 and I've met some great people that way (DH and I met online in a chat room). I have some really good friends here at iVillage whom I e-mail back and forth, ask for advice, give them a shoulder to cry on, etc. Yes, online friends are real friends.
