Okay. I'm going to make this sehr short and to the point because

my food on the stove is burning, I think. do you gals have nightmares at

all? what do you do about them? I mean, I know there's no remedy for them,

like "half a teaspoon of sugar for hiccups"(which, by the way, is nasty

but effective) but are there special ways that you deal with them, and do

they keep the nightmares from coming back? I've had some that are really terrible

(I've told you that, I think) and I keep doing strange things like scratching

my face and neck (which I had to excuse a million times at school) and tearing

holes in my clothes during the night. Did any of you do that?

Hi Val,

Luckily, I haven't suffered from bad dreams as much as some but I know we've discussed nightmares many times on the board. In fact, I just did a search on "nightmares" and 108 posts came up. You might try looking at the search to see if anything pops up. It's just a thought.

One thing I've done is to re-write my dreams. When I have a nightmare, I write it all down in my journal, then I re-write it the way I would have wanted it to go. I know this sounds silly, but I sometimes write myself as a superhero in my dream-revisions. :o} I give myself a cape and everything. LOL It helps me feel better so I don't carry the negative feelings of the dream around with me all day.

I also found that I had more nightmares while I was on anti-depressants, and now that I'm off of them, I have fewer--far fewer. The other memebers of my AMAC group have attested to the same thing. I don't know if that's a coincidence or not, but that has been our experience.
