little update

I took all your suggestions on board, and have been trying to do things for little Rubie to try and make her feel safe. I got out my big soft blanket and have spent yesterday and today on the couch. Tomorrow I will attempt to go out. The couch is my safe place in my apartment, so I piled it with pillows and blankets and watched my favourite movies. Feeling a little better I guess.

Hi Rubie,
The couch is my safe place too!
Hi Kelley, nice to meet you. I sit with my laptop on the couch too :)
Going out can be a problem - i get paranoid that everybody is looking at me, that they can see through my sweater at my bandaged arms, and will know what a loser I am. At the moment as well, I don't walk so well, and feel a bit paranoid.
I'm sorry you struggle with going out too - it can be tough. I guess I know that I feel safe on my couch, and dont see sometimes why I should have to put myself in a situation where I don't feel safe. Saying this, I did manage to get out to see some people last night, which was a lot of fun, and I'm glad I did it.
Take care

Thankyou Brenda - it means a lot to me. I always know that I can find support here. I am so blessed to have you all in my life.
I managed to go out last night to the pub with some friends...and I actually had a really good time. So I am feeling quite pleased with myself.

Hi Rubie,
I am so happy that you were able to get out with your friends!
I'm glad that you're feeling a little better, Rubie.
Hi Heidi
I am feeling much better today thankyou.
I like all sorts of movies - my favourites are Leon and Dogville. But my feelgood movies are What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Garden State, and the Lord of The Rings movies.
