Glenn,

That was extremely powerful. I felt your feelings in my gut! I am sure most of us have felt the way you do.

I also wrote a poem a long time ago, and there are similar feelings in both. Hopelessness, darkness, light, wanting and needing to be saved, trying SO hard to be FREE...etc, etc. I really get it.

I am glad you reached out here. I am an incest survivor and I have been peer counseling other survivors for over 30 yrs now. I have to tell you from experience, that as much as we reach out to others; which is absolutely necessary; we MUST find ways to help and rescue ourselves. I have written about this subject and it is very painful indeed. We have lots of work to do to recover. Have you had any therapy? This board is a wonderful place so keep writing, but most of us could never move towards recovery w/o professional help.

Just remember you are NOT alone. I wish you well in your recovery.

Warm wishes,

Mady Bead Good

That was just what I needed today. Thank you for typing all of that!

I just realized a few days ago after 20 + years that I wear masks.
