Saturday's Ponder
| Sat, 11-06-2004 - 8:25am |
A Weekend Welcome to you all. This is the first weekend we don't have any commitments, and probably the last until after the holildays. Anybody have anything fun planned? Here is a question to ponder.
If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one ability or quality, what would it be?
Can't wait to see your answers.

Let me say right up front that this is not an ad!
Is the Toastmasters a community service type organization?
Toastmasters International is an organization that promotes personal and professional growth through learning how to speak in public.
You have peeked my interest.
Ooh, great question! Okay, I am going to give two different types of answers: a "fun" one, and then a more serious one.
The ability I'd like to have (for my "all in good fun" answer) would be...lol, something like mind control, lol. ;-) Being able to really influence people (or just certain ones in particular) to do my bidding. ;-) Of course, my "bidding" wouldn't necessarily be anything negative or threatening to the rest of humanity...maybe a couple of "queen for a day" type things, or to just really be put in the #1 spot by certain people, and to be able to coerce some people to heal rifts between them (which would make my life a whole lot easier in the process, lol).
For my more serious answer--I guess I'd like to have the ability to heal. Or, to know for SURE whether I am truly a healer or not. I think I would really like that ability. ;-)
That would be so cool to have mind control over someone (in fun of course).
Trying to answer this before reading everyone's else's responses, so as not to be swayed...LOL! :D I've been sitting here mulling this question and you know what?! I can't think of a thing! By being what I am, a mixture of strength and weaknesses, I was led to a spiritual path that has fulfilled me so much and helped me feel whole. Yet if I didn't have the weaknesses, the sufferings, the obstacles in thinking I've had to overcome, I wouldn't be the person I am now, I wouldn't be on the Path I am now.
Perhaps being able to hear fully again without hearing aids, but that's not a big thing, and with the aids, I do pretty well most of the time. And even the loss of part of my hearing has been fruitful in that it taught me about the healing and spiritual peacefulness of quiet and solitude, too.
If we're "awake," I think we can progress as spiritual beings just as we are. ;)

For Wolves, Andrews says:
KEYNOTE: Guardianship, Ritual, Loyalty and Spirit
CYCLE OF POWER: Year Round -- Full Moons -- Twilight
Another very misunderstood mammal. Wolves are ritualistic just like humans, living by carefully defined rules. They have specific territories considered sacred. The social structure is hierarchical, with one alpha male and one alpha female. Extremely intelligent, very acute hearing and other senses are very keen. Sense of smell is associated with spiritual idealism. Their excellent hearing is a reminder to listen to one's own thoughts and words. Intuition will be strong. The thick fur and hair symbolize psychic abilities as there is inner and outer fur/hair. The wolf makes quick and firm emotional attachments, indicating learning to trust your own insights and to secure your attachments. Hear your inner voice to guard you against wrong actions. Indicates time to revitalize your life rituals, find a new path, take a new journey, take control of your life, with harmony and discipline.
There is much more in the book, as he describes the lifestyle of different wolves and so forth. This is just the "essence" and connections to lessons they can teach us.
