Progression into the future

What do you think of the possibility of being progressed into the future through hypnosis in the same way you are regressed into the past? At first my reaction to that was no way, but if you think about it, people have had dreams showing the future and have had readings telling them of things in the future. So perhaps it is possible to be progressed to see parts of the future to help you heal. Dr. Weiss' new book addresses this and it's a very interesting concept.
My Mom has had dreams that have come true, so I suppose it is possible.

Hmmmm...my immediate reaction is that no, I wouldn't want to do this. I have never wanted to have hypnosis used on me for any reason. I know it's supposed to be a great tool in reputable medical hands and all, but I just don't like the idea of someone having that much control over my mind while I'm "under." Just gives me the willies, you know? :-\ I've also read that under some circumstances, depending on the hypnotist's skills and procedures, the hypnotist can elicit false memories by accidental suggestion, if not outright manipulation, in the way questions are asked, followed up, etc., based on the biases or expectations or preferred outcome of the hypnotist him/herself. Just too "iffy" and requiring 'way too much trust and giving away all of my personal power. I'd feel like a sitting duck. No way.

P.S. You have to take into account the movie I just watched last night was "The Manchurian Candidate" with Denzel Washington, too! LOL! :P I have always felt that way about hypnosis, though....

I have never been able to be hypnotized, but I've been intrigued with
Hypnosis certainly has a place in therapy.
I've had dreams that came true, too. Dumb stuff, nothing earth-shattering, but still, interesting that they were EXACTLY right on. Not sure hypnosis could really do that, though, and not sure I'd want it to. I'm pretty big on the "yep, there is fate, but there is also free will"...and so I'm not sure about the hypnosis thing - think I'll see if Weiss' book is out in large print or audio. I've never really thought about hypnosis in this light before.
I agree with gypsy and tara - you would REALLY have to feel confident with the hypnotist...I don't need any ideas planted that aren't already there, kwim?
Hmm,..I'll look thru the rest of the posts here to find the name of Weiss' book - or may I ask you for it?
Thanks!
