I just found out that I was born not only on the same day, but at the same time that my great grandfather passed away years earlier. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a word for this phenemon? Are there spiritual beliefs relating to it? I can't find any information on this kind of thing so maybe it means nothing....but I can't help but wonder....Anyway, if anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it.

Tks.

Hi! You're right -- it *is* interesting... I'm afraid I don't have any information to help you discover any hidden meanings or indications. Have you consulted an astrologer? That could prove interesting, to compare both yours and your great grandfather's readings. If it were me, I'd glean as much info about your great grandfather as you can, see any connections to his astrological readings, his path in life, etc.

My DD was born in May and that same year, my mother died that September. I thought at the time -- one soul leaving and making room for another in the family line. But I don't believe there's a finite number of souls that can incarnate in any specific time period, so I don't know what that means. :P In my DD's infanthood, I thought there was a lot about her looks that reminded me of my mom. She has a strong resemblance even today, now that she's a young woman. Personality wise, they are entirely different, though. :)

Hope you get some meaningful answers!

I've never heard or read anything either, but I agree it's something to look into. I'm sort of in the position of Gypsy's DD... my great-grandmother passed about 3 months before I was born, and I look VERY much like her. (Photos of her have been mistaken for me by my own sister.) In fact I was supposed to have been named after her, but my aunt used the name first. My Dad's entire family is convinced that I AM her reincarnate. Maybe. I've always found some comfort in the similarities, a sort of tangible connection to my family history.

On that subject, I have a unique story about that too. I haven't read anything about it, but I remember at the time it happened, everyone was passing down stories and beliefs about it too.
My sister-in-law was pregnant with her son and after finding out, a few months later, her husband was diagnosed with an aggressive form of melanoma. She was due for her baby in December. He was really ill by then. I can still remember at Christmas dinner, he kept saying that his only wish was to be able to spend one more Christmas with the family. Somebody asked him if he was "waiting for the baby to arrive" and if that was the reason he lived past the 2 months they had given him to live. He said, no but it was okay because he was gonna have to look over him after he was born, so he would always be there for him anyway. He passed away at 35 on New Year's Eve. His son was a week and a half late and was the first baby born on New Years Day in Florida that year.
My husband's family is very open about passing away and spirituality. I had just started dating my husband at the time. To this day, their beliefs and what he said has had a huge influence on me and how I live my life. Before this, I was scared to death of death!!!
It is definitely a sad story, but it helped my sister-in-law through a rough time. To this day she tells us stories of things regarding her son that she knew would never have happened if Rick wasn't there on the otherside to help her son throughout his life in our world!

Thanks for all your answers - it's an interesting phenemenon that I guess I'll never really understand. I do I think that it's too coincidental (sp???) to be a coincidence!!! Virgogirl, what can I say? What an amazing/sweet/very sad story.

I have since found out that for me, this is a family thing. My mother's birthday is on the same day as her grandmother passed away and my grandmother was born on the same day that her grandmother passed away. That means this has happened, in my family, to the oldest daughter of the past 3 generations. Like I said, too coincidental to be a coincidence!

It's definitely an interesting topic. One with many different opinions. I really have been thinking quite a bit about it since it was posted. I'd like to hear more stories about this phenomenon too!

It's a really interesting topic,

I do't think there is a clear cut answer to your question, but it reminds me a documentary a few month back on the Discovery Channel, about kids rememebring a past life, one of the kid remembered being his Grand father and even told his own mother shocking stuff about when she was a little girl and he was his father. There was no way he could have known those but he did which in this case could prove a case of reincarnation.

Your story reminds me of my great grand mother,

She died 4 years ago at the age of 98 a little after Christmas, the persons taking care of her told us she was getting weaker and weaker each day, but she stayed with us on Christams, in fact she stayed until she could see every member of the familly and soon after the las person left, she went to sleep not to wake up again.

I remember the last time I saw her, she had that sparkle in her eye and a bright smile on her face, she was just repeating
