The article really touched a cord in my heart. Although my Mother was a devout Catholic, ours was not a Christian home. My older sister suffered from terrible temper tantrums as a child and through adulthood. After her death last year her children held a memorial service. I did not attend, however I was told that as each of her children, who are in their forties, spoke, they dwelled on those tantrums. Sad to have that as a legacy.
Not to say that I have always been perfect and I certainly regret any unkind words I've spoken to my children and to my husband.
This is off the subject, but I want to share this :O)
I've been loooking for a faith community for a long time now, but never really felt like I was getting what I needed until a chance meeting with the Pastor of a Mennonite church near my home. I began attending that church last May. Funny thing, but as I walked through the door, I knew I was home. It has made a great difference in my life and in turn to those around me. In fact I was rebaptised and joined the church earlier this month.

Thanks for sharing your story with me. I was raised simliarly - as a Catholic - and my mother's temper was fierce. Constant verbal and physical punishment and I *know* I don't want to pass this on to my kids! They are being raised differently and I have a personal relationship with Christ now and am learning more of the Word and then trying to be the *doer* and not just *hearer* of the Word.

I'm really glad to hear you found a faith community. It's so important to get connected to the Lord. Thanks again!
