I had a super intense experience with Holotropic Breathing during something called a "Dolphin Breathe"...Does anyone have a decent amount of experience with this and can I ask some questions???

1. Is this something you can do alone??
2. Do they sell CD's or anything for this??

I haven't found much information on it. It was truly a deeply spiritual and uplifting experience for me. Curious to see others opinions on it.

Thanks!
Maggie

Well, it really got me in touch with my Guide. It was a learning experience. I remembered that I am whole just the way I am. It helped me work through MANY blocked emotions. I ventured to that part of myself that I was afraid to look at...and I realized...there's nothing to be afraid of. I have been dealing with depression for years. It was getting almost to the point of taking my own life. I took this course called Understanding Yourself and Others. This is where I experienced Holotropic Breathing...It was the first time I ever consciously chose to live. I was alive...but I never chose to LIVE...that alone was a very profound experience. During the breathwork, you breath in and out through your mouth. It's a controlled hyperventilated state. You get loads of oxygen into your system. Your lips and extremities start tingling b/c of the oxygen. It started getting a little strange b/c I had never experienced anything like that. But, I had made a commitment to breathe. Then the facilitators reminded you that this was your opportunity to choose life...fight to live. Gives me goosebumps thinking about it. :) That was when the blocked emotions came through...you just kept breathing though, and they would pass rapidly. I think I experienced almost every emotion there is in that session. It was great. I am going to do it again very soon. I just thought maybe it was something I could do on my own.

Dear Maggie,

I have only done holotropic breathing in groups - It sure makes it safe and connective to do in groups.

I have a friend who facilitates groups and he has a 5 minute tape/CD he sells for individual use. His website (if I remember right) is http://www.powerofbreath.com

I hope that is helpful!

With Passionate Gratitude,

Julie
