A lot of us are relatively new. I use different practices within my spiritual training, but maybe I don't know where it came from. Let's do an impromtu roll call and share little things about each other.
****
I'm Cee, 43 years old. I'm a married mom to two beautiful teenage sons and a human mom to Kovu, my sacred "aminal". (Yep! I misspelled it like I say it to him! Ha!) I'm a college student, a full time working woman, and a bonafied health nut.
My "purpose", my drive, imy intention, is to become an elementary school teacher. My current job makes good money, but doesn't fulfill me.
I'm of the Church of Christ faith (non denomination), but I feel grounded when I meditate/practice yoga. I read a Bible passage most nights, I'm intrigued with the Tarot, and I'm curious about Buddah practice, and I wonder if there is a guiding animal spirit that walks with me. (I have a pull towards the lion.)

Will you take a lurker? ^_^
I'm T, 22, from Missouri. I'm a member of the LDS faith (have been all my life), and every once in a while I meditate and do yoga. My husband and I have been married for over two years, and we're waiting to start our family in two or three years.
Since my hubby discovered he has leaky gut (intestinal hyper-permiability), we've been eating more healthfully, although I do have a chocolate break every once in a while ^_^, and we take vitamins and supplements every day. He also goes to a chiropractor once a week.
We're living with his folks until we can get on our feet, since I'm the only one of us working while he recovers (the leaky gut led to fibromyalgia, so he's recovering from that as well), and we're both still college students. I work at a Montessori daycare with the 6 week to 8 month old babies, and I love my job. ^_^ It helps with the "baby fever" (my sister is pregnant with her second, and I can't wait to have my own baby).
We pray and read our scriptures every day, and I attend church every Sunday. Hubby was able to go on Mother's Day, which really made his mom's day. ^_^ The back pain has made it difficult for him to attend every week, but he's been doing better, and I'm praying that he'll continue to improve. I help teach the Nursery kids on Sunday, and their ages range from 18 months to three years. I've been doing that for almost a year now, and it's fun. I work with three other gals (one I work with at Montessori, and the mom of one of our two year olds works there as well), and we take turns teaching each month. I teach next month.
Anyway, I think that's pretty thorough. ^_^ I mainly lurk around, but I do pop up every once in a while. I'm a shy, quiet person in real life and online, so don't be surprised if you don't hear a lot from me. Well, see you around! ^_^

I am Shyla.

I'm Carol and I turned 40 last December and truly feel in many ways like my life is just beginning. I live in Liverpool in the UK and would love to visit America one day.
I've been married for 19 years and have two wonderful teenage children, a daughter who turned 19 a week ago and a son who is 16. I am about to get my BSc in Psycholoy and am currently in the middle of final exams. When I finish I plan to continue with the office work I already do part-time but to increase the hours while I take my masters degree.
I have been seriously unhappy with my weight for longer than I care to remember and made the committment to myself to finally do something about it last week and since then have been eating healthily and feel much better already. I have 80 pounds to lose and I promised myself on the millenium that I was never going to diet again and guess what I've stuck to that longer than I ever stuck to any diet or new years resolution before ;-) I don't consider myself on a diet now but am making lifestyle changes both in my eating habits and my thinking habits as I have been an emotional eater since I was a child.
I have felt for some time that I want to is run experiential workshops for people who want to make changes in their lives and that is still in my plans, but ultimately I feel that my "purpose" is to devise and run weight changing workshops helping people to understand why they overeat, their attitude towards food and weight and how that impacts upon their vision of themselves and what they can do to change things. From research that I did for my final thesis I am also intrigued by how many 'normal weight' individuals restrain their eating to stay at the weight they are, often being more obsessed by weight issues, food and dieting than those who are overweight. Before doing this research I always thought that they were the lucky ones who could eat what they liked and stay slim and I was shocked to discover that many more people than I realised are so obsessed by staying slim that they have become slaves to food. I would also like to help these people overcome this so that they can eat sensibly and have a happy and healthy attitude towards food.
I don't belong to a church though I think if we had a Unity Church here in the UK I would probably go along to see if it suits me but unfortunately as far as I know we don't have anything like that here. I therefore consider myself to be on a spiritual journey not currently connected to any denomination.
Carol
Ah, but you do have Unity in the UK!
Hi and thanks for that Binkeebee but unfortunately the nearest one to me is still an hour and a halfs drive away and that's providing the roads are clear. I'll keep my eye out though in case one opens any closer and if I ever get the chance I may just go along to that one anway as I have a friend lives in the area there.
Thanks again Carol
Hi Cee, I'm a little late in answering this one, but better late then never.
My name is Jayme. I'm 25, and live in Utah. I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My dh and I have been married for 5 1/2 years, and we have two boys ages 4 and 18 months. We're hoping to add to our family within the next year.
I am a stay at home mom, and I lead the Waiting to Try board at the Pregnancy and Parenting channel. And my dh is a full time tax examiner.
I say personal prayers every morning and night, and we have family prayer at mealtimes and at night before the boys go to bed. We read and study the scriptures together as a family also every night before we go to bed, and I have my own personal scripture study every night after boys are asleep. I write in a journal daily. I attend church every Sunday, where my dh and I currently work as nursery leaders, but we will soon be released from this calling, and will be working in the church library instead. We also have a Family Home Evening every Monday night after dinner, where we teach our boys about something to do with the gospel, have a fun family activity, and I make a special treat each week. I sing in the church choir. And my dh and I attend the temple at least once a month. I also go to a monthly activity with the Relief Society, and I play volleyball with some friends at church once a week. I'm also trying to learn how to do geneology.
I think that about covers it.

Jayme,
It sounds like you have a solid church family, hon.
