QOTW-Have you ever had a glimpse ...
For our friends who believe in reincarnation...
Have you ever had a glimpse or soul-knowledge of a past life? If so, how did it occur, and how sure are you that you are right??
Do you think it's important to know?

Oh I love this one!
Yes! :-)
I've no knowledge or recollection of any specific lives, although I've always felt drawn to certain parts of the world and felt it came from a past life.
I HAVE, however, met someone I knew before. Neither of us have taken the time to explore when or where or how; it somehow just doesn't seem important. The overwhelming sense of recognition when we met (online no less, here on iVillage!) was absolutely the most amazing, uncanny, scary, exciting thing I've ever experienced. Even through cyber space and over 5000 miles between us, there was the most profound sense of familiarity. To this day we both have to stop and consciously think about how long we've known each other because it just feels like we always have. We got the opportunity to meet IRL summer before last and that was even more amazing. There'd always been some sort of weird 'psychic connection' between us, but meeting in person accelerated it to the point of being able to feel and hear each other even when we're not talking on the phone or chatting online.
I have had two past life memories, both through waking dreams, and one possible past life memory.
I'm not sure I have .. I only can give a definite affinity to queens of Egypt.

I had a Karma reading done last year from someone off the internet. I would never normally pay money over to someone in this way but this particular one came highly recommended from a very good friend of mine who had had reading following a recommendation from someone else. Anyway when it came it was 21 pages long and talked about my last two lives though most especially the last one. I have heard that from one life to the next there is very little difference as we are here to learn lessons and until we get it right we keep repeating the same experiences but I was totally blown away but this reading. There were just sooooooo many things the same in that life as this from the type of family I was born into, the circumstances of my childhood, things that happened throughout that life that reflect this one, down to medical problems, the type of mate I chose, even the children I have and career choice etc. The only thing that did freak me out a little I have to say is that in that life I died in 1957 at the age of 41. In this life I was born in 1964 so only a few years in between and in that life I left behind two children so I was really freaked by the idea that those children are probably still alive somewhere.

If not you should, she remembered her past life and was so clear on memories that she went to find her previous life town and found some of her "children" who were older than her of course. Very good book, Naomi
This book sounds fascinating, I will definitely look it up and see if I can get hold of a copy.
Thank you :-)

I've been lurking for a few days and haven't felt compelled to post anything until now. My name is Shannon, I'm 25, and I'm in grad school.
A very good friend of mine works with a lot of "intuative" things and also reads the Tarot. He, my boyfriend, and I all met on the same day (we all work for the National Park Service and met because we ended up at the same park). I knew the night I met my boyfriend that there was something there that I couldn't put my finger on. We lived next door to each other, and over the next few days we got to know each other a little and the conversation flowed so naturally it felt like I had known him for years. My friend did a Tarot reading for me and out of nowhere I asked where I had known my now boyfriend before (I hadn't intended to ask this). He said that we lived in England and were married (he didn't mention an era), and that one of us became mentally disabled due to an accident or illness. The one who was well took care of the other until one of us finally died. He said it wasn't important who was who. He also said that for some reason it wasn't acceptable that we were together, perhaps because of social status or something of the like. But he said we were married and stayed married despite this fact.
The funny thing is that we're both American, and before we met I was accepted into grad school in England. It turns out that my boyfriend had also studied in the same town in England before we met! The house I'm currently living in is about 2 blocks away from where he lived, and that was completely accidental. We both feel a strange pull back here, and I think part of our lesson or purpose in this life is to NOT return to England and to create a new life for ourselves in the US.
I'm studying historic building conservation and I have a recognized talent for carpentry, something that surprises many men. I often wonder if I was a carpenter who built some of the Medieval timber frame buildings in England. Perhaps that's why woodworking comes naturally and why I'm drawn to old buildings. Perhaps I fell off of one of the buildings, whacked my head, and was never the same. Maybe I was from the middle class and my partner was from the upper or lower class. Who knows? It's interesting to think about.
Yep, he's pretty amazing. Though he's like a 3rd generation American, he's of Chinese descent and does a lot of work with Feng Shui. And though he can't "see" auras, he can read people amazingly well. We were doing some training together one day and there was a woman who walked with a pronounced limp. My friend suddenly got this funny look on his face and said something like "it......er.....oh, wow." He said that he got a flash of how her injury happened. Of course he wouldn't tell me because it would be an invasion of privacy. :)
One of these days I'd like to do a past life (or lives) reading with him to find out more about my past.
