Was there a situation that helped you in your faith, your devotions? Was it a personal loss, an unexpected moment, an illness, a trial (today's violence, job loss,), a "loss of control"?
ooooohhhhhh that is soooooo true. I never thought of religion that way before, but your right, it is created by men and not spirit and that might explain why so many people are now 'doing it alone' so to speak.
It's interesting, too, to read how people choose their spiritual paths and find one that nurtures them. :) I would have written something similar to what you did, just a few months ago. I had been on my own spiritual path for nearly 15 years, leaving structured or formal religion behind. What I found eventually on this journey, is that going it alone became empty and meaningless for me. I've just come 'round to re-acknowledging for myself, that there is a God or Godhead or Divine Being, and that through revelation and prophets and teachers, "He" has spoken to us and instructed us how to live and our purpose, and told us of his love and support and compassion. Interesting how life paths meander and sometimes take us back the way we had come... ;)) Now I have a renewed sense peace and a sense of Home again, in structure that I rejected 15 years or so ago. I don't know any answers. Instead I work with wonder and questions. :P Anna

Very interesting! And the very reason why the spiral is a common spiritual symbol through history. Christian labyrinthes function on this principle. I love the idea and would love to visit a real one someday.
