FINALLY starting on our new wood floor. One thing after another has held us back from putting it in (we've had the materials for 2 months) but now it's finally time. Any good thoughts are appreciated as we've never done this before and are both a little nervous.

Getting out of the house and into nature!
Going to a birthday party on the beach Saturday, then afterwards going up state to friends of ours that live on acres of wilderness, having a cookout, go four wheeling and swimming, and have a bonfire and roast marshmallows!
I need to unwind and just relax!

I've just got home from being out to dinner with my daughter, something we haven't done for a while so it was really nice. We went for chinese and now i feel oh so stuffed!!!!

Saturday and Sunday we are painting the dining room and then hopefully one more weekend and another room will be finished :)

If I did what you are planning I would be totally unwound and need three days off to recover!

LOL!
I get stuck around the house all the time cleaning up after kids....I have cabin fever! It is actually relaxing for me...I can actually TALK to adults and; they'll be so busy, they won't want to bother with me! The next day, they'll be so tired, they'll be asking for a nap!

An easy weekend for me - we're gearing up for some busy ones to come with DS's High School Graduation and a big fundraiser Tag Sale with our civic group.

It's a light, natural oak. Our cabinets and most of our furniture are a medium oak, with a few darker pieces thrown in. They had accidentally delivered maple, which is pretty, but definitely didn't go with all our oak. Ironically, there is a spiritual twist... oak is very special to me because of where I grew up, surrounded by oak trees. I love the Druid symbolism of oak representing wisdom. Anyway, it'll be all through our DR, LV and down the hall. We're replacing carpet that the kids have just trashed and are hoping the wood will be easier to deal with spills and such. It's also lighter in color than the carpet so it should make the house appear bigger.
