Loose inscense help

I have this terrific loose inscense that I got at the Spiritualist Temple in New Orleans.....and I know I have to burn it on metal.....and I try to use a rolled up paper to form it into a sort of cone....but it ends up being WAY to much, and the hubby makes me put it out.

Any advice, help, tips?  I know that years ago they used to make a cone shaped mold for loose inscense, but I can't find one now at all.

How much should I be using?  How do you get it in the cone shape easily?

Hi Shyla:)

First...congrats on the wedding:) Second...the incence...Have you ever used the charcoal tablets (not to be confused with briquets, but kind of smaller versions for incence)? You burn them and sprinkle the incence lightly on top of it. You can put the charcoal out after awhile. Burning the pure loose incence is very overwhelming...so that is what I do with it.

It's self igniting, which is one of the reasons I bought it...I didn't want to try and mess around with charcoal.
