Nourish

Feed yourself whatever you feel strong and satisfied inside and out.  Know the difference between nourishing your hunger and feeding your stomach.  Nourish your yourself with a bowl of homemade should, a cherry pie, a mason jar of black-eyed-susans next to the bed, an hour at the library, two hours of absolutely nothing.  Nourish your soul, your heart, your spirit.  When you wake up, nourish yourself with a walk, a meditation, a prayer, a conversation with a friend.  Midday, satisfy your craving for exercise, for music, for writing, for solitude, for companionship.  Snack on a book, some time out for your sewing, a cup of tea, and two shortbread biscuits.  Round out every day with the essential nourishment categories:  peace, love, quiet, and creativity.

Ah, that kind of nourishment is what you mean! It used to be sewing for me...at least, before I had kids and worked full-time...I could spend an entire weekend behind that sewing machine, making anything--tailored clothes, curtains, stuffed animals for someone's kid, gifts...then later, it was quilts--I love to quilt...I like the feel of fabric between my fingers, and sometimes, if I'm feeling down at work, I'll stop into a fabric store and touch the silks, the velvets, the calico cottons...and dream about what I could make.

I've been sewing since I was old enough to pick up a needle and thread--I think I was eight or so. Lotta years between me and that little kid now!

Now, the sewing machine has dust on it, LOL. I'm mostly here to nourish my kids...read to them, talk to them, shuttle them to sports and other activities, but, they are getting older now, and I can start sewing again...I really should. Thanks for the reminder, LadyC, we all need nourishment, no matter how old we are.

Nourish, the food of life. I love to do nothing,
watching my baby kittens, looking at the birds at the feeder,
buying the best of food, fresh veggies right out of the ground.
i make greeting cards for my artistic escape, it nourishes
my need for color and for "show and tell" Knit, creation. My grandson
nourishes me by watching him grow and to feel the baby
skin that is so soft and hairless. I love to do things for people
and to give things away. Work is nourishing. I love to say, I love you. Nourish is
an incredible word. I love my books, my condo. I love to cook
for myself and for people. I love to nourish in the kitchen. I'd like to
nourish in the bedroom but he doesn't show up!!!!!! hehe. I am in a
wonderful period of my life with so much nourishing!!!!!!! (:- )
