With all the bombings, I just keep getting a really bad feeling about London hosting the Olympics. I just really think these bombings are a bad start of things to come. Do I think they should rethink the decision to have the Olympics there? no. But if I was a parent or a family of a olympic athlete, I would really be reluctant to send them over there. I also think the next Olympics may be targeted. My feelings are really strong this time, where I never gave them much thought before. It's so sad that people have nothing but hate on their agenda.

I always felt sorry for the Palestinians, I sort of felt for their cause, although I didn't like the way they went about it. But these people are just sick! So sad they are filled with hate and negativity.

Ginger, it was the first thought of most people over here and we do wonder had the bid gone to Paris, whether they would be experiencing the same acts of terrorism now. It was one of the reasons Madrid was knocked out of the bidding so early on and had they occurred here a week before I am sure London would not have stood a chance at winning the Olympic bid. The only concelation is that the Olympics will not be held here for a few years yet so there is plenty of time for this policital situation to have changed.

We've been through this before with the IRA terror campaign of the 70s amd 80s and we'll stand firm against this now.

Egypt too now is experiencing further acts of terrorism and Turkey earlier this week. I was in Egypt 8 months ago and the people are so lovely and friendly and the Turks too I have heard though I have never been. I was planning to go there next year to visit a friend who is moving there and I will still go if I can. I pray these acts do not destroy the tourism these already poor people rely on.

Turkey too??? I'd just read last night about the incidents in Egypt, but I hadn't heard anything about Turkey! Where? My best friend lives on the Greek island of Kos and regularly takes the ferry over to Turkey to shop. Oh geez. :-( Please Goddess, let the madness just stop!

When the IRA laid down their weapons after the World Trade Center/Pentagon disasters of 9/11, I thought the free world had finally reached a state of unity and a new evolution was beginning.
