QOTW-7/25 End times?

You see it in the supermarket tabloids, might hear it from a preacher, or see news reports that correlate current events to prophesies.  In the book of Revelation in the bible, John wrote of a series of world events that would signal the end of the world and the Apocalypse.

Is our troubled world nearing the "end times"?

It's hard to say, Bink.

No, I don't think so. I think Karma is at work, with destructive philosophies (power OVER and COMPETITION, rather than COOPERATION and team work) about how one country deals with another, about how one gender deals with another, about how the human species' abuse of the planet and the environment is destroying it, etc. Consequences to our actions. We can learn from our errors and abuse, and benefit from changing the way we do things around the planet. We have to believe we have the power to do so, be willing to see things differently and go after those in gov't who represent us, to change things. If we allow things to go on as "business as usual," then we are in for more of the same.

The way I look at it, if the human race continues to go down the destructive road it has been going, it will be considered a pestilence by Nature, and we all know what happens when a species becomes untenable and destructive...

Things CAN be changed but not if the people in power around the planet continue to do what they are doing.

No. I don't believe the planet will last forever, but I don't believe we're anywhere near the end of its lifetime. Humans will probably die out before the planet does, but again, I don't believe we're there yet. And, how to put this gently... I don't believe there will be any second coming of Jesus to rescue anybody from the mess we've made of the planet. We need to take responsibility for our actions and show some respect for Creation. Probably best I just stop there. ;-)

I think we're going to be around for a good long time.

We have a Project Manager here at work who will tell you she doesn't have a 401k or retirement plan because she expects to be raptured before she reaches retirement age.

I believe in the Second Coming, but I'm not about to go so far as to not plan for the future. Since we don't know exactly when that'll happen, we'd better be prepared, just in case.

You think about it, dinosaurs were around millions of years ago and survived for millions of years. They died because of changes in their enviroment and it wasn't even of their making. So, I think we are the ones who will, in the end, calculate how long we are on this planet.
Another thing that I think many people don't think about is the fact that we really haven't been on this earth that long to begin with. I believe right now scientists are saying roughly 8,000 years??
I think it is not worth worrying about because it definitely puts a damper on life. Especially for people who are fanatics about this kind of stuff. I wonder how they feel when the day they think the earth is going to destroy itself comes and goes. It reminds me of Y2K.
Enjoy life and plan for the future. One way or another, "The End of Days" will come anyway whether its everyone at once or we just die of natural causes.

I agree with you, T. I use to study prophecy, and if you have read or heard of The Left Behind Series, I believe that these books are right on track with what is coming. I also believe that everything that was prophecied to happen prior to this time has happened and that everything is in place. However, our time is not God's time, so while I expect it any day, I still plan for my and my family's future.

I doubt it, hopefully someone will get wise
to using up earth and polluting. without water,
no life. from the beginning of time, man kills
so his ideqs and people can be the choosen ones,
more or less. I'll never get it but earth continues.
We need water, good food and clean air. Love, Leila
