It's been stressful to say the least.  I actually am not working.  They took my key on Monday at closng time, and then on Tuesday I went in to get my stuff and go.  The boss still wants me to work next week when he was on vacation.  I said no.  He says that taking my me is standard prcedure when you give notice.  I say, it was a slap in the face.  I have a new job, don't need the reference, etc.  He sort of snickered at me then.  I told him that I was trying to do the "right thing", and was it the "right thing" to ask me for my key?  He couldn't say anything.  Needlesss to say, it's over.  I feel bad, but not that bad.

Then, Doug's car went into the shop for some minor repairs....and they ended up being $3000 of repairs!  We bought a new car!  Thank goodness my mom works at a dealership.....we got an Equinox (Chevy) to replace his 10 year old Blazer.  Wanted to get it while employee pricing was going on.  We got a good deal and are picking it up today.

Hi, me too. Car work cost me close to 3K and my new job
turned out where I went back to the old one. a control freak ran the program,
on 3 eves a week to work she would not give me a schedule where I could
have 1 night the same day off a week, therefore there would be no way to plan appts
or to take a night class etc. I went back to my old job, no more driving to boston,
and lost the 14 dollar an hour raise. The good. I am loved where I am. Everyone
says "welcome home" Love wins out one more time!!!!!!!!!! I get days off
that I need, I work harder but it is OK. what i thought was heaven,
really good money etc. turns out to be very slack medicine, very sloppy work and a creep
leader. God will have to take care of me and my financial future. I am glad you got a good
deal on a new car. My saab has 169K miles but I expect it to go for years more.
been a reliable car with little cost to me and it is paid for. I did almost
wipe out my savings acct. this time. Mercury is retrograde, i think!!!! things break down.
love, Leila

Car problems here too...went in for an oil change and they found a nail in one tire...expensive tires on that vehicle! Ouch...I went to the dealer...replacing two tires would cost nearly $400...I know zilch about cars and believe everything they tell me...fortunately, I called my h and he steered me in another direction...it was half the price...do men come out of the womb knowing about this stuff or what???

Shyla...I've left many a job under a black cloud...hey, it happens...chalk it up to experience and have a better experience at your next job...believe me, it's not you. It's just bad job chemistry...I've had jobs where I've gone in thinking I'm gonna do great here and then you land in some weird dysfunctional funk...bad chemistry that was set up way before your arrival...the workplace, it's the luck of the draw.

good luck in your next job...hope it's a better experience. yank.

Sorry to hear things have been a bit stressful at the end of your job but I'm sure the new one is going to be much better for you ;) Hang in there girl and you'll do fine.

Cars can be a major headache when things go wrong. We bought a new one a few months ago having had the old one for 7 years. I hate that we now have payments to make again having been free of them for years but we'll get through it.

When does the new job start?
