I am lost

I just spent a weekend with my dad's side of the family and I am discovering that I might not have the answers that I have been looking for. I was raised Catholic and my father and husband's families were all brought uo Baptist. I noticed that there are different ways of teaching the Lord's word and each religion thinks that there's in the only one out there but I truly would like to be happy and I don't think I ever will be if I do not have this peace. My husband and I are trying to find a church that we are both comfortable with but I am wondering...is there any sort of books that I look into because I am so lost? I want to be able to reconnect with God.
Please help

Just a thought, but this is what popped into my head reading your post. Catholics believe that the Bible is in part metaphor and therefore open to interpretation. Baptists, on the other hand, believe the Bible is to be taken literally and historically. Decide first which you believe and it may make it easier to see your next step.

HTH! (((Hugs!)))

My belief is you don't need a biolding that man made etc
( I know that you are looking for more) You can connect with God
right in your heart, You don't have to go far. Light some candles and just try.
Not that you need the candles but they are symbols. All books will tell you
different things, Budhism says God is in everything and us too. We are in God's image.
That image may be a spiritual energy. Try going within. Wish I could be
more profound. We tend to complicate, maybe it is more simple. Love, Leila
